admins please make new system of reputation system....because no one giving rep points for works...or some of them doesn't know abt rep points....

so please improve rep points system according to no of downloads for their post or in no of thanks .....like that or any new rules

Its better this way. I take it that you mainly spend your time on the site in the C07 section, and you should know better. Most simply 'display' their work for reputation points and release them after a very long time. Earlier, members abused the system. Now it doesn't matter.

bro ur thought is good .....but to cover the whole sectionof forum .....like thanks indicator for posts...they can add an extra indicator for reps..so if it was an quality post they can add rep...no body is watching that small indicator down to our profile details

It is pointless to add a reps button, for a part of a forum. When the thanks button does exactly that. The thanks you get are recorded which you can see on your profile page. So why would you want reps.

Look Paul, my view on this reputation/thanks system is that its total bollocks and should be removed.

The main reason for the thanks system was to prevent a long string of people replying with one word comments on a post to agree with it or because they wanted to say thanks.

As a means of alerting you to the posts of yours that were being thanked, there was a previous tie in with the rep system - but the newer system we moved to does a better job of letting you know what posts are being thanked and can directly notify you.

I'm not sure where rules would come in to any of this - the only rep related rule is to not ask for it.

But the older members has more rep points because of that thanks system,,,but it was for not new members....no encouragement for new members...please make some new system for rep.... or make awarness about rep system to all members......

Back when we used to display reputation levels on posts then perhaps you'd have a point - but it's something that only matters if you know what it is and go looking for it.

Older members would mostly have more rep points regardless - you build up a reputation over time, that's why it's called that. Now that thanks don't impact rep count, it just means that everyone's rep would increase at a slower rate.

Also, the rep count doesn't really matter much if you're looking to give people something cool to see when they're visiting your profile - the thanks count in your mini statistics tab makes up for it instead of those green boxes which you used to see before.

Also, let me repeat what I said before in VMs. People regard you with the posts you make in general mostly, not by your reps. When we had the old thanks system, a random C07 modder with hardly any contribution in other parts undeservedly got more rep points. This system is much better imo.
