I'm not a kid anymore.

When I proposed, my now wife was a manager of the produce section of a grocery store. I intercepted her early Monday am load, jumped in the truck and organised the storeman at the store to have her at the back dock when the truck arrived.

She unsealed the truck, opened the door of the truck and I jumped down, gave a little speech and proposed at 6am in the morning on a loading dock.

Easily both the most romantic and least romantic thing I've done.

Delete the inappropriate statement.
Could have been worse the truck could have been delivering fish...?
Could have been great the truck could have been delivering flowers...?
Could have been handy the track could have been delivering...?

Oh I don't think she cared at that point in time what the truck was delivering. As part of the proposal I had postcards printed up of images significant to our relationship to date and wrapped up like paperwork for the load. We spent 15 mins looking through that and being all emotional, then she had to go back to work, but I'd given everyone a heads up so inside an hour she was covered and met me. Was good as we had the day to be an engaged couple before everyone came home from work and we told em.

Do take a vote.

Well, one thing that did suprise me was there was no light in the back of the truck. It makes sense but it never occurred to me. I had the speech written on little cards and was going to quickly run through it while bouncing around. So it would have been kinda useful if it had been delivering torches I suppose :)

There would have been flowers on the truck, but mixed in with produce and boxed up, so not particularly useful. Fish would have been annoying for me and probably made be smell the rest of the day, which wouldn't have been useful.

Everyone should make an effort it's the very human things to do...?
