It's not just today's game, it's also the game tomorrow. Yesterday's game and today's game were really evenly matched. It's a real pity. I think Pakistan were hard done by in the first game and they might get away with one tomorrow if it's washed out. Dhawan ruled out for atleast 3 weeks is a major blow for us and will disturb the settled XI now. Rahul might be promoted to open and of the replacement is allowed, I would love to see Pant get into the team at 5 with Dhoni playing at 4.

This can be a blessing in disguise as well. I know Dhawan is our best player in ICC tournaments since 2013 Champions Trophy and is very consistent in these sort of tournaments but Rahul opening the batting can actually help India. As we have seen it in IPL that he does very well once he gets going and he scores his runs quicker as well, so not a problem to push him at the top of the order. And I would rather like DK to come in at play at 6 with MSD at 4 and Kedar Jadhav at 5.[DOUBLEPOST=1560256063][/DOUBLEPOST]Honestly I don't feel like discussing about this WC any more with how the tournament has panned out. It is nothing to do with the quality of Cricket but the weather and poor scheduling. ICC needs to learn now !!!!!

I like the idea of swooping in Pant (although as stated above seems unlikely) but I wouldn't want to see Rahul open. Middle order is where he should be and his innings against SA was a very important one even though he didn't get to convert it to a 50. He looked fairly comfortable at that spot and would want him to continue there.

It is likely if the injury is a major one. Some are reporting he is ruled out of the WC while some are saying fot only 2 games. If he is ruled out then surely replacement will be provided.

I really like the idea of Rahul opening. He can be our Jason Roy type of player who can give us the much needed quick fire starts and we all know he can play long innings once in. No better than Dhoni to be at number 4 and be an anchor. Pant, Pandya and Jadhav to finish things off. Sounds good to me.

I don't mind Rahul opening. His potential is more than any of our current openers but he's a stock low in price expected to give long term returns years down the line. Dhawan is the loss of a proven blue chip.

What I don't want is that if Dhawan returns during the tournament then Rahul have to move back down to 4 or even lose his spot. I feel that will be really bad for KL and India in the long run as well as this WC.

Rain is going to washout 2 more games this week at the very least. How many games before the ICC realizes it's getting farcical. If they had the will to reschedule these fixtures given the severe weather warnings in such advance, they would`ve. Its a long tournament and given that there is just one game on most days finding days to slot in these rained out matches shouldn't be very difficult. There is zero degree of proactiveness from the organizers. No communication, no thinking dynamically. Its a World Cup for god's sake. People plan careers, fans attach importance. As per the ICC, the tournament ended with them clinching the $$ from the TV rights.

Also, there should be at least a minimum requirement for the grounds to be fully covered during rain. We could`ve had a game y'day and yet in the best sunshine whole day there was no play due to wet outfield.

We have a better prediction for tomorrow. Hopefully we atleast get a 40-over per side game.
