East Coast of Australia battered by monsoon

The first Test was a wash out as the Eastern Coast of Australia was badly hit by a monsoon, with their being massive flooding and a lot of damage. The pitch resembled a pond after all the rain and play was not at all possible. Here are some of the scenes in Brisbane and the surrounding countryside after the storm

In a moment of charity both teams have stopped training and helped the local emergency services with sand bags and trying to damn the flow of water plus repair damaged homes and businesses. Ricky Ponting said, "The last thing on people's mind's at the moment is cricket and we are just trying to help in any ways that we can."

Prime Minister John Howard has declared a state od emergency as towns and cities all along the East Coast have been wrecked. There is also a rumour that the two Cricketing Boards have agreeded to postpone the Second Test. Find out what happens at a Press Conference due in the next few days.

Lol, nice storyline. Not very realistic, that wouldnt happen in QLD:p

Shame, was looking good that Test.

Second Test Posponed

In a joint Press Conference by the two Captains and the heads of both Cricketing Boards it was announced last night that the Second test will be posponed until Australia recovers from the recent monsoon.

"It did not feel right for us to be playing cricket while thousands of people are struggling to recover their lives. We have not set upon a date, but t should be happening soon."

The move has been greeted with a lot of support throughout the International Cricketing World. Star Sports and LG made a very charitable decison when they said half of the fee for the advertising will go to the charities trying to help rebuild devastated areas.

Now a Message from Highlander:

I am taking a break from this story for a bit. I have some very important exams coming up and I really have to do well in them to boost my chances of getting into a good university. I am still continuing with this story and will update it although a lot less frequently, maybe a bit more like Suren's. And don't worry everyone because I am spending longer between updates, they should be even better than before.

Cool, what Unis are you applying to, and what do you want to do? If you don't mind telling that is.

No problems.. There is no time constraint at all in stories. Update whenever you can :)
