Christmas Dinner?

We went to Sainsbury's today and stocked up for Christmas. A turkey, pigs in blankets, carrots, runner beans, sweetcorn, sprouts, cabbage and roast potatoes with home made gravy on top.

It's Yule Log for dessert and the traditional hot rolls with butter on Boxing Day.

You didn't actually buy roast potatoes, Lee, did you?

People that buy Aunt Bessie's should be shot.

We did our shop today, we got a new wok today, I used it tonight, Somerset Pork, it was gorgeous.

Like that, but without apples and with Mushrooms (Chestnut). I'd steer clear of cheese in that, but I 'spose it goes with it.

We've got to pick up the Turkey either Sunday (morning) or Monday from the butchers.

No, we bought some new potatoes to do the roasts. Aunt Bessie's are very nice, but Christmas is a time for the family all lending a hand, and making the roast potatoes is one thing that could be done.

I disagree. Home made Yorkshires are always better. But I guess its a matter of personal opinion.

i wonder what do turkish people call turkey..

anyway i made a joke..

DUMB ASS1: you know what turkeys called?
DUMB ASS2: I don't know, Kev?
DUMB ASS1: nah, they are called turkish..

"Aunt Bessies are good"

Ah. I like Aunt Bessie's roast potatoes, not the Yorkshire puddings though. They are too small. I like a home made Yorskshire filled with home made gravy like a cup. Delicious.

Yeh. Anything home made is good. Much better than stuff you buy that's ready made etc. Can't wait till Xmas Dinner now.

I don't get why you fill Yorkshire puddings with gravy, when you cut it the gravy just comes out all over the plate. I suppose it's a way of making sure you get more gravy than people who don't have Yorkshires :p, just fill them up with gravy.

Now you see I don't cut the Yorkshires, I pick them up and bite them. That's a good idea actually, pick it up and drink the gravy out of it!

Pfft, real men don't cut up yorkies. Toad in the hole is a different matter though.

My Grandmothers gravy is the best! Although i believe quite a bit of the population would argue with me and say thier Grandmothers gravy is better!

Is Christmas the only time Grandmothers become useful :p I'm harsh i know.

My grandmother isn't useful at Christmas. :p

My mum does all the cooking and awesome it is too.
My nan does help a bit, but she's very old now and my mum won't let her do too much.

So she just watches BBC News all day while my grandad read the Daily Telegraph. They only stay for 6 months of the year so it's no worry :p
