I'll post some simple magic tricks you can do on your friends or relatives. I have books by david Blaine and Chris Angel but almost 95% of those magic tricks require special magical items or are not feasible for apprentice.

Light A Used Match ​

Effect :

You take out a box of matches and go to light your cigarette or candle but when you open them they are all used.

You then say I hate that when people put used matches back in the box, oh sorry it was me I hate it when I do that. You then proceed to take out the used match and strike it and it lights. You can have them already stashed in the dirty ashtray and take one out and then light your cigarette or candle.

Secret:

All you have to do to make it look like it is a used match is dip the match in black ink, and then wait for it to dry. Then dip it in ash and it will look like a used match but when you strike it the match will light like any normal match

Cool As Ice​

The Secret: You need a cup or glass that you can't see through. You also need a small sponge and an ice cube.

Preparation: Prepare the cup by placing the sponge into the bottom of the cup. Then, drop an ice cube into the bottom and you're all set.

To Perform: Pour a small amount of water (about an ounce) into the cup. The sponge absorbs the water. Blow into the cup, wave your hands over it and dump out the cube.

Isn't that hypnotism? I believe hypnotism actually works because they had one during our orientation week at Rice. I would have thought that the people he called up to the stage were faked, but this guy next to me became hypnotized as well. And I know him pretty well so I guess I could now ask him if it was fixed.

cant remember exactly how it goes but anyway

Cup of coins

need a polystyrine or cup like u get from macdonalds.
fill it 3/4 full with coins(lighter the better)
Poor dark liquid (hot black coffee works best) in cup of coins to fill the cup.
be careful while filling not to move cup/coins.

Ask friend if they want this drink.
then go to give it to them naturally they will look in an see its black coffee.
Then squeeze cup a few times just be4 handing it over.
As they grab it off you the coffee will sink to the bottom an all they will see is a cup full of coins

I do card magic with a regular deck of cards. Its more sleight of hand than baffling minds, so I love it cause it involves skill, and you get the credits, rather than the props. Though its more important to know that presentation decides the effect of a trick...

This is best card trick out there. I will bet noone can beat this one. Its damn cool and I was thinking about how to add this cos its in flash untill I found a webpage that had this supported.
