How were they earlier dividing 27 teams into two groups?

How were they earlier dividing 27 teams into two groups?

Earlier there were 2 groups of 7 and 8 in Elite and 2 groups 6 teams in Plate. Now there will be 9,9,9. Group B of Elite used to play on 6 matches, and teams in Plate Divisions just played 5 the whole season.

Now it will be equal for all.

Good move to revitalise domestic cricket. Good that they have brought the two bouncers per over. Also the "one bowler bowls 12 overs" rule is good for the bowlers.

Got to see how well they implement the "fast bouncy pitches" rule. They should encourage outright results than first innings lead victories. If a knockout game ends in a draw, play a Super Over to decide the winner.

Good to see some new rules implemented. Should make domestic cricket interesting.

You'll have to wait until some bowlers that can bowl fast and get bounce come to verify the quality of the pitches. Maybe when Aus tours next year.

India have two very promising fast bowlers in Varun Aaron and Umesh Yadav. Plus Ishant is there as well so if we want to check about the pace and bounce, we don't have to wait till Australia's tour of India. We can easily judge it by bowling of these 3 bowlers.

Yadav and Aaron can bowl 145-150kph pretty easily and on an average basis. And now we have guys like Parvinder Awana, Abu Nechim, etc (they play for KXIP and MI respectively) who can clock such serious pace.

Yeah I thought they were both good prospects prior to the tour of Australia. Unfortunately Aaron went down with injury and missed the experience, and Yadav had a pretty rough time.

Testing a fast pitch out and bowling a team out are two different things. :p

Fast, bouncy pitches? That's some kind of joke I heard the BCCI saying some time ago. These changes will make the Indian domestic circuit more competitive, as the earlier Plate and Elite divisions made it impossible for the Elite teams to lose to underdogs. Remember England v Ireland/Netherlands?
