This wasn’t really a surprise, they did the same versus West Indies and won the series due to it. Agree on them overdoing it this time though, an extra pacer in Mustafizur would have been a lot more beneficial rather than someone like Mosaddek or Liton if he isn’t keeping.

Brilliant performance from Afghanistan till now. All they need is one clinical day’s performance to secure a historic test victory. Beating this Bangladeshi side on their own home turf is a huge achievement and should give this inexperienced side a lot of confidence moving forward.

On another note, why is Asghar not the test captain instead of Rashid? Asghar has shown that he has decent leadership skills and unlike with white ball cricket, has shown himself to be a quite competent batsman in tests. Is there any particular reason given that him being captain would also lessen the pressure on Rashid?
