Primary (Batting, Bowling and Wkt Keeping) training times calculated by me on the principal that it increase by one week per one year with one net.

17 yos
1 Net = 11 Weeks
2 Net = 6.8 Weeks
3 Net = 5.6 Weeks
4 Net = 5.0 Weeks

18 yos
1 Net = 12 Weeks
2 Net = 7.5 Weeks
3 Net = 6.1 Weeks
4 Net = 5.5 Weeks

19 yos
1 Net = 13 Weeks
2 Net = 8.1 Weeks
3 Net = 6.6 Weeks
4 Net = 5.9 Weeks

20 yos
1 Net = 14 Weeks
2 Net = 8.7 Weeks
3 Net = 7.1 Weeks
4 Net = 6.4 Weeks

21 yos
1 Net = 15 Weeks
2 Net = 9.3 Weeks
3 Net = 7.6 Weeks
4 Net = 6.8 Weeks

22 yos
1 Net = 16 Weeks
2 Net = 10 Weeks
3 Net = 8.1 Weeks
4 Net = 7.3 Weeks

23 yos
1 Net = 17 Weeks
2 Net = 10.6 Weeks
3 Net = 8.6 Weeks
4 Net = 7.7 Weeks

24 yos
1 Net = 18 Weeks
2 Net = 11.2 Weeks
3 Net = 9.1 Weeks
4 Net = 8.2 Weeks

For 2 nets increase is like this .7 + .6 + .6 + .6 + .7 + .6 + .6 average is .6
For 3 nets increase is like this .5 + .5 + .5 + .5 + .5 + .5 + .5 average is .5
for 4 nets increase is like this .5 + .4 + .5 + .4 + .5 + .4 + .5 average is .45

So there is some periodicity.

For Stamina Nets if with 1 net it increase in 6 weeks then

1 Net = 6 Weeks
2 Net = 3.7 Weeks
3 Net = 3.0 Weeks
4 Net = 2.7 Weeks

I dont gurranty them to be correct but these are my simple calculations and are based on one fact that training times increase by one week per year with one net. If this fact is correct than these training times are correct.

Lets the discussion starts.

I doubt that 4 nets would be much different to 3, according to the battrick rules:

A fourth training session would only provide negligible benefit
But good work on the others, should be handy identifying how long players will need the nets for.

3 = 5 weeks
4 = 4 weeks

For a 17 YO. Add an extra week per year.

No way....
I can tell you 4 nets on a primary will not give you a 4 week pop.
its is 5 week with four nets and and 5 - 6 nets with three nets.

Anyone know anything about secondaries? There doesn't seem to be a lot of data on all the different training variations. I want to see the effects of bat/field/keep and even bat/bowl/field/keep.

I think there is some data on secondaries, but the options for training them are so diverse, its hard to get any kind of reading - how many sports psychologists you have for example. All we know is that older players will train faster in secondaries than younger players. Still, 17 yos don't take as long to pop in secondaries as 31 yos take to pop in primaries!

Is it worth training this guy with 4 batting, 3 fielding, and 3 bowling?

17. Luke Antonius (960074)
LH Batsman, LM Bowler, feeble batting form, respectable bowling form, sublime
An attacking player with strong leadership skills and worthless experience.

Plays For: A couple of tons
Nationality: England
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 2,758 (-344)
Wages: ?891 p/w

Stamina: worthless Wicket Keeping: woeful
Batting: respectable Concentration: worthless
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: worthless
Fielding: worthless

No, not if you're not putting any stamina on him.

4 nets is too much IMO. it will drain him. Use 2 instead, and use the 2 free nets on stamina. Bowling, theres no point, just buy a player with better stats. By the end of the season, this guy will have reached about feeble, mediocre if you're lucky. No point neglecting the rest of your team.

Everyone in my team is 22 or older except him.

Plus its ok if he gets drained I dont currently play him. Im planning on getting fitness coaches on him for next season.

So should I just move the bowling to one of the 22 year olds them?

Buy some trainees then... but I bet you haven't any money. Its just not worth it. In fact, it might even be best to drop a few coaches until you have a decent trainee

Or you could see if anyone has any low secondaries, and train them...

Look for bowlers that would benefit from improved consistency. Just a fielding and bowling net with a few SPs on staff will produce results soon enough.

Alternately, sack those coaches and replace them with fitness coaches, it's never too late to improve stamina.

Ditto that. Also, the deciding factor between two teams can be the fielding. Consider putting loads of players on fielding practice and you improve your results (think about it...fielding can help with almost any wicket, less catches dropped, more runouts etc)
