In the final of the 2001 Asian Cup, India scored their lowest total score of the first innings with
283 runs from their fifty overs with Vijay Kambli getting bowled on 99 from a Shi Gen

For the Chinese, this story of courage and upset potential is a possibility as only restricted

real resistance being Zhu Yusheng who scored 88 with the next highest scorer being
extras with 30.
The Indian bowlers kept it tight with five different bowlers each taking a wicket in the innings.
The result was that they only made China score 208 which was 75 runs short of the target and
for India this meant that they had claimed their second Asian Cup in a row.

Zhu Yusheng batted really well against our full force bowling attack... If any other batsman game him a good support, trophy might have slip from our hand... China will definitely bigger threat than this in next Aisa cup... And finally thanks to china for saving Indian domestic cricket

IMO, losing both openers within the first two overs killed their hopes.
Commiserations to China, and congratulations to India. Expecting any other result would've been coo-coo. India are yet to lose a single match in the Asia Cup, but China definitely gave them a run for their money, which is something to be really proud of.
