[World Cricket Conference]

WCC Club World Cup is the World Championship of List A cricket played annually since 2000.
The tournament is organized and overseen by the sport's governing body, the World Cricket Conference.

2003 WCC CLUB WORLD CUP

2003 WCC Club World Cup is scheduled to be the third edition of the tournament after being taken over by the World Cricket Conference.
Originally known as the Super League, the tournament was incepted by the Cricket Board of India before they sold its rights to WCC.

Denmark will host the Club World Cup after being awarded the hosting rights by the World Cricket Conference during their 2003 Annual Summit.
It will be the first WCC event hosted by Denmark since becoming a member nation, and it will also be the first Club World Cup to be played in Europe.

As tournament hosts, both the champions and the runners-up from Denmark's Danish One-Day Cup will feature in the 2003 WCC Club World Cup.
Beijing, champions of the 2002 edition, will become the first team to reappear in the following edition on the basis of their Club World Cup win.

TEAMS

A total of 14 teams were invited by the World Cricket Conference to participate in the 2003 WCC Club World Cup (two less than the previous year).
Denmark were allowed a double-entry as hosts, meaning both the winners and runners-up of the 2003 Danish One-Day Cup entered the competition.

Due to such an odd number of participants, this edition of the Club World Cup also feature a qualifying round between four randomly drawn clubs.

This edition will also be the first to feature the winners of the previous year's tournament reappearing solely on the basis of their Club World Cup triumph.
As a result of which, Beijing, winners of the 2002 WCC Club World Cup were invited to take part despite finishing second in the 2003 Labour Trophy.

TOURNAMENT RULES

Upgrades

Squads

Each club is required to confirm their 15-player squad at the start of the tournament.
Upgrades must be spent before or during squad announcement; not during the tournament.

Players on national duty () will be made unavailable for certain rounds/matches.

Lineups

Playing XIs are required to contain at least one capable wicket-keeper (//) and six bowling (//) options.
Designated captain () at the start of the tournament can not be dropped unless injured or unavailable.

Tie Breaker

In case of a tied knockout match; a bowl-out will be used to determine the winner

Five bowlers from each side will deliver one ball each at an unguarded wicket (three stumps).
If both teams have hit the same number of wickets after the first five attempts, the bowling will continue into sudden death.

Player Injuries

Injuries are randomly simulated to give this league somewhat of a realistic feel.
Players that play without a rest are more likely to get injured.

- Can play one game early with a 50% ratings decrease upon return. Heals fully after a two-game rest.

Degree 4

* Out for two to three games; instantly made unavailable
- Can play one game early with a 25% ratings decrease upon return. Heals fully after a three-game rest

Degree 5

* Out for four to five games; instantly made unavailable
- Can play one game early with a 10% ratings decrease upon return. Heals fully after a five-game rest

Degree 6

* Out for six to ten games; instantly made unavailable
- Heals fully after recovering from injury

Degree 7

* Ruled out for the remainder of the series/tournament
