Tier 10 Football at it's best​

History:
The story of AFC Liverpool starts waaaaaay back in the olden times. Yes, back when dinosaurs roamed so it seemed. Way back in 2008. But it's first season wasn't such a bad one. Winning the Joe Fagan Commemorative and the First Division Trophy (The League Cup) isn't such a bad feat for you're first season. The club then went on to finish 4th in the North West Counties League Division One, narrowly missing out on promotion to Tier 9.

First thoughts:
I can't defend, I can't pass, I can't score - I must be almost every player in AFC Liverpool!

Transfers:
Out (10): Barry Sim, Steve Corris, Andy Griffiths, Craig Cushion, David Ojapah, Connor Murphy, Adam Coburn, Andy McCoy, Joe Evans, Robbie Cole

In (10): Alan Burton, James Vaughan, Bryan Rutherford, Ian Cooke, Tryone Berry, Michael Cooke, Joel Brownhill, Rob Grainey, Michael Thomas, Abian Serrano.

Most of those players brought in are regular starters. I got rid of most of the deadwood, kept some for reserves. The half decent players in the squad at the start are reserves for the first team or are subs. The two strikers Kennedy and Powell are legends and have stayed. The midfield is completely different, and theres only one survivor in the back 4.

After a really slow start to the season we started kicking into gear. That's mainly thanks to Kennedys return from injury and Powells return to form. He didn't score a goal for 11 hours of competitive football at the start. Constantly building my midfield helped too, and I've got the right balance at this moment which is reflected by the recent results of 3-0, 4-1, 5-0, 5-0 and 2-0. A hell of a lot of different Cups and Trophys, and it's hard to keep up with what I'm still in and what I'm not in. But into the Quarters of the Liverpool Senior Cup is big. I have a tier 8 team to vs in that.​

Nice start Matt. May I ask how you are controlling AFC Liverpool in such a low league? I swear the lowest playable league is the Blue Square North/South...

Really!? Awesome, going to go do that now. Might rekindle my love for FM. Found it to be boring over the last few months, but this could be a good challenge. Bring on Clevedon Town

Yeah, it's hard work at first seeing who's good and bad haha. But if you need to spend money to get a bloke, monthly installments over 48 months always works well. I've gotten a few guys by paying 1k over 48 months.

Atherton LR 4-1 AFC Liverpool​

It was a spirited effort from the walking wounded. Our main striker Kennedy, and best Central Defender Rutherford were out before this game against the Tier 9 team. Then 4 of our players picked up knocks before half time. We were actually up 1-0 at the break, but I never expected to win after 2 defenders and 2 midfielders were injured. As a result, heres how our injury table looks:

Liam Coyne - Key DC, starts every game - twisted ankle - Unknown time out.
Bryan Rutherford - Key DC, starts every game - Bruised rib - 6-9 days.
James Vaughan - Key DR, starts every game - Twisted Knee - 4-5 weeks.
Tyrone Berry - Key AL, starts every game - Damaged Elbow - 3 weeks.
John Kennedy - Key ST, starts every game - Damaged elbow - 2-3 weeks.

3 of my back 4 injured. My best striker and one of my better midfielders out too. So 5 key players out there. Ouch.​

Ah, the teams in tier 10 have the best names..

Quality start anyway.. can understand why you won Manager of the Month with performances like that. Incredible.

If I somehow make the final of the Liverpool Senior Cup then Liverpool vs AFC Liverpool is most likely. Unless Everton beat Liverpool... But I doubt I would be able to beat the team I'm facing in the Quarter final anyway

Tier 10 Football at it's best​

November:
Mixed month. Played 8 matches this month, and only won 4. The fact that I lost 3 is the most worrying though. I lost twice in the League this month and it's stopped me from going first, which looked likely after doing so well in October. The biggest disappointment would have to be the last game of November, where we bundled out of yet another cup. That just leaves up in the Liverpool Senior Cup, which I see us bundling out of in the next match. More injuries and fitness issues struck us this month. Having to play 8 games whilst trying to bring back half of your team from injuries isnt easy. The final game of the month saw Burton fracture his arm. Out for 4-5 weeks. Massive loss.​

Should be disappointed with losses to Stone Dominoes and Irlam but you are still in a great position for promotion. Who you playing in December?

Yeh, defo two games I should have won. The Stone Domioes was my 4th game in 10 days though. I have Chadderton, Rochdale, Oldham Boro, then Holker OB in the league. Not the easiest games, but I don't need to worry about cups and get a good resting period in between the games. My last game in december is against Cammell Laird in the Liverpool Senior Cup.

You can just Add Nation Rules in the Data Editor and add all the leagues, can't you as well instead of downloading them?

Anyway, great start and it's good you're just doing it for each month as you won't have any chance of getting up to a better division anytime soon. Hopefully you can promote this season.

Also pretty funny that you're paying 1K a month for 48 month's. Shouldn't be losing too much there.

December
We are top of league, say we are top of league! Yes, we have finally hit the top of the league. 19 games into it, we are on 40 points, 2 ahead of Atherton Colls who have played 1 less game though. It wasn't the most easy run of fixtures, having to play higher placed teams, but we did extremely well. Our match against Cammell Laird was good, we kept them to 0-0 until first half stoppage time. They ended up scoring 3 to our 1, but it was a great effort. 3 wins and 1 draw in our 4 League games was fantastic, and if we did better in November we would be leading by quite a bit more.
