Maheer Amir quits international cricket after rift with captain; throws match-fixing accusations
Khana Badosh Press - 26th of April, 2021

It had been quite apparent there was infighting going on amongst the Pakistani camp ahead of their historic series against India, but things have taken a severe turn as Maheer Amir, the flamboyant all-rounder from Karachi has announced retirement from all international cricket after a massive conflict with Asad Raza. It is said to be believed that Maheer Amir has made himself unavailable for as long as Asad Raza remains captain of the Pakistani cricket team.

The reason for this decision taken by Maheer Amir is said to have stemmed from his belief over a potential case of match-fixing by Asad Raza in conjunction with Afghanistan's manager Na Maloom Afraad. In a very startling development, Maheer Amir has gone as far as to say that he has gotten his hands on 'concrete evidence' of match-fixing between Asad Raza and Afghanistani team manager Na Maloom Afraad which led to the unceremonious axing of three of Afghanistan's mainstays in Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Rahmat Shah in the series decider.

Maheer Amir believes in serving his country with the utmost dignity and pride, and for him to play alongside a match-fixer is downright impossible. Maheer Amir has proclaimed that Asad Raza is 'unfit' to play for, let alone lead Pakistan. Maheer Amir is working with his legal team and the anti-corruption bureau at the Pakistan Cricket Board to prove these accusations and until then, will remain as far away from Asad Raza's 'shady' team as possible.

With the news breaking out on corruption allegations, being the VC of India, I demand an independent body to carryout the investigation into this matter. It's an internal issue of Pakistan but out of personal interest and well-being, as well as to protect the leagues reputation, Asad must be stripped from captaincy until this issues is sorted. I appeal this to Pakistan board & Misbha-Ul-Haq.

Virat Kohli would be happy now because the toughest bowler he faced has announced his retirement

Leaked private conversations between Afghanistan manager and Asad Raza fuel match-fixing accusations
Sarooq Fattar, Dawn Group of Totally Reliable Journalism - 26th of April, 2021

An anonymous account has leaked alleged private conversations between the Pakistan captain Asad Raza and Afghanistan manager Na Maloom Afraad that all but confirm the match-fixing allegations Maheer Amir brought forward against Asad Raza.

Screenshot 2021-04-26 at 4.16.10 PM.png

As shown in the first screenshot that includes two messages, it is quite clear who approached who to make this deal. The second message is quite discrete, however, anyone
knowledgeable with Pakistani politics would rightly assume this as a sly threat should the manager refuse to yield to Asad Raza's demands.

Screenshot 2021-04-26 at 4.16.15 PM.png

Out of greed, but quite possibly fear of Altaf Bhai, the Afghanistani manager seems to have relented and cut right to what he could provide and the price he could provide that for. Even still the money-hungry Pakistan captain tried to save as much money as possible and tried to negotiate something cheaper for him, but at the same time about as much beneficial as the previous deal. The 'we're old customers' line does draw Asad Raza in a very, very bad light.

The exact same message was delivered by Asad Raza once again, but this time in Urdu, as pointed out by our translator - Maved Jiandad.

Him saying 'we're old customers' once again potentially paints him in the picture of having done this several times before, furthermore justifying the brilliant point made by Maheer Amir of Asad Raza being 'unfit' to play, let alone lead Pakistan.

Not for nothing, credit to the Afghanistani manager for standing his ground and being as fair as he could possibly be in such a corrupt, corrupt environment.

The Dawn Group of Totally Reliable Journalism would like to point out that Maheer Amir had absolutely nothing to do with these leaks and can not, and will not be able to be held accountable legally under any law, in any court. This message was paid for by Na Maloom Beopaar and Na Maloom Jugaad and not Maheer Amir himself.
