American TV Series - "24"

Ya, Logan was good. He was the one who twisted the story, until then everything was boring.

Special appearance? They had that bollywood actor.

Who? Anil Kapoor (as Omar Haasan)? He was a principle character in the show. He possibly had more time and importance in the show than Charles Logan, Cole Ortiz, Dana Walsh and a few others.

Finally finished watching the last series of 24, only 4 or so months after it ended here in the UK. Enjoyed it thoroughly, certainly the better of the two series I have seen. Some of the acting from the likes of Omar Hassan and President Taylor were superb and made for a very 'on edge' series.

24 is incredible. Seriously the best thing to ever come out of the States. Anyone who considers Lost to even come close to lacing 24's boots is deluded and/or a complete fanboy.

I also like how this thread has 8 pages; one for each series of 24 ha.

Went through all the 7 episodes of 24 once again *Courtesy: Netflix Instant Streaming*. How many ever times I watch it, the show gets better and keeps me hooked to it. For me, its an all time great show. Seasons 1-4 are the most gripping. 5-6 have many WOW moments but they slag off. 7 is my least favorite.

Dexter is brilliant too. Haven't seen breaking bad myself so I can't comment. By and large it's been a great decade for American television though with the likes of Prison break (first 2 series at least) and the Wire.

Nah, 24 was never consistently great to earn that title. I really dropped off after season 5 for me. The Wire was easily the most consistently brilliant show I've ever watched.

Ah, I should start watching 'The Wire' soon then. I guess its a thriller too? I heard about 24 on an Indian website article and started watching it and I should thank that site for it.

Its not a twists and turns thriller type show.

But if you appreciate quality TV that focuses on realism and have a bit of patience, I think you'll enjoy it a lot. It starts off slow but the story unfolds like a high caliber novel. All I can tell you is that I don't think I can truly enjoy another cop show after having watched this, I'm spoiled! I've never watched a show that was so consistently brilliant throughout. And this is after I've just watched all the seasons of Dexter. Once I got to know the characters pretty well, I went through so many emotions during my watching experience. All 5 seasons are ridiculously good, in fact I can't pick a single season as my favorite.

I dont need twists and turns. If the show can be gripping and keep me hooked to it, that should be enough. Will see if 'The Wire' is available on Netflix Instant Streaming (that way its easy for me to watch it on iPod or even connect to TV).

I mentioned twists and turns since you asked me if it was like 24.

That's a negative on instant streaming. Which sucks because its a show I loved watching a lot of in one sitting. I think I watched all 5 seasons in like three weeks.

Instant streaming is not available on Netflix for 'The Wire'. They have DVD's that I have to add to my queue and wait for each disc. I am exploring other sources:p where I can watch Season 1 without interruption (ie. waiting for the next DVD to ship)
