Im not on any of them, luckily they were not around when I was younger and I never got sucked into. Personally do not understand why people are so willing to share personal details with the world.

Should have clarified, I meant that twitter mostly but facebook as well. Depends on each person obviously, you can have facebook without being overly narcissistic.

I am on Facebook, and I have encountered no problems so far regarding spam/hacking or any other things. I was also on Orkut before and never encountered things of such kind (although I have seen it happen to others). I left Orkut once and for all, but I will remain on FB as long as I am secure. I guess you will be fine as long as you just use FB to communicate with your friends and share your mind/interests. Dont use the FB apps too much.

For the last two days, my facebook home page has been without a SINGLE annoying app thingo. No farmville, no quizzes, nothing...and it looks beautiful.

Yeah, I have noticed that for the past week or so, my Facebook news feed has been very clean without many of the annoying apps and it only contains posts from friends and comments to them.
