That would cost a hell of a lot of time and money developing those stadiums. It could arise into a situation like the Olympic Games at Greece where they weren't on time. 1 stadium to upgrade/build, fair enough - but 10 - a bit over the top wouldn't you think. :o

i quite like the look of sabina park. however i think if the grandstands are too big it will take away from some of the culture of the west indies. i love seeing people just running around beating drums very laid back

I think these models will help us in building stadiums for TCP.

Remember all those stadiums are in different countries so each one is being funded and constructed by the respective governments.

I know for a fact Sir Viv is almost finished, Port of Spain is on schedule and Providence in Guyana is ahead of schedule. I am not sure about the rest but I know that Jamaica is really struggling and is the prime concern.

arnos vale rox!
though getting the ball from the ocean will be a tad difficult :D
P.S.----On second thoughts, is that an ocean?

Either that or road...you'd hope that they'd stick something up there to stop it happening - despite the fact I would love to see it happen.

Actually it is an ocean. Arnos Vale is in St Vincent by the way.

Here is a pic I found floating around on cricinfo

The airport is in the foreground and the stadium is in the background surrounded by the beautiful ocean.

All the pics show that the Caribbean is the place to be next year.
I simply loved the Brian Lara Stadium,Grenada & Sir Viv Richards ones.

My thoughts:

It's the ocean, so a strong breeze would usually be present. A high shot would catch the breeze and drop shorter than expected. The best way to hit into wind is with a low trajectory, which is arguably easiest on the leg side, with a slog sweep or pull type shot and arguably hardest playing straight bat shots.

According to the picture, the area is either
Right hander's long off - Usually an uncommon area to hit sixes, mid wicket and long on being bio-mechanically easier
Left hander's long on - Many batsmen like to hit through this area, brute force might be enough to overcome the wind.
Right hander's fine leg - Top edge hook would probably be straight up and down, but a really well struck hook might be a good chance.
Left hander's third man - Probably a little back of the ideal area for a six, if my memory of Sanath Jayasuriya serves correctly. It is conceivable that a conniving batsman could hit a flat reverse sweep for six. Both are shots that few batsmen play, however.

I love the National Cricket Stadium in Grenada, looks very professional.

But from a modeller's point of view have you noticed that the pitches are all circular in the artist's impressions?
