Both look good at a noob's extent. Text in both doesn't look good at all. You can try using lights, adjustments, etc. If you want any further help or PSD of any of my work, just knock me. Anyways Keep it up and hope you improve.

These kinda work will take you nowhere to be quite honest. You'll only improve if you practise 100x100 avatars - That's how you start and you end. And yeah, try some fancy texts rather than in-corner-placed texts, they just consume a left place which isn't right but for now, I'll suggest you not to have text in the avatars. Just practise text in signatures that also 475x175. Hoping to see a lot in you and keep 'em coming.
