Story Ashes 2009: The Aussies Return- *Updated*

Just thought i'd give a heads up, dont expect too many updates. I am busy with sixth form atm so will normally update the story at weekends. If there is a period where updates stop completely dont presume the stories' finished. I plan to complete this 5test series at least. The way i am doing my updates is much easier this time round. The updates were quite laborious in my last story.

Thanks for the first comment, but not really sure what's wrong with the squads ? Hogg is the only mistake i can find in the Aussie squad, and the England squad i am very happy with. What's wrong with them ?

I agree with the first 3 but 4 dud players in 2 full squads isnt anything to moan about. Harmison will only be 30, Elliott 37 (still a playable age), Hogg was a mistake on my part as i wasnt sure how old he was, then Rofe may improve, he has a decent first class average and is relatively young. I dont see anything wrong with that selection, especially as he will only be used as a squad player. Harmison and Rofe are far from "duds", you're basing Harmison being a dud on 1 series. He will still be plenty good enough in 2 years. I respect your point about Elliott and Hogg, but the other 2 are far from dud's. Hopefully you'll continue looking at the story and keep track of the updates.

Regarding the current situation in the match, it seems bowlers have taken full advantage of the green conditions. Nice!

To add a new aspect, creating a few new players would create alot of interest

Yes, but are completely new players going to have come in and be playing test match cricket in less than 2 years ? I seriously doubt it. If i was doing a completely different series from say 3 years further on i would have created another couple of players but considering it is 2008 in 3 months i doubt we'll see a complete newbie come in and play test match cricket in just over a year.

James Harris and Billy Godleman already exist :S. You said that creating a few new players would generate interest. Godleman is definetly on C07, Harris probably is aswell. There may be a twist to the story midway through, injury or something, you never know .

Sorry, i forgot to update over the weekend. Had a cricket match saturday and was watching football yesterday. There will definetly be an update by the end of next weekend .
