Ashes Win Sparks Pop Song Frenzy

A song, taking the 4-X out of the Aussies follwoing the Ashes win, is a big hit with internet users.

(PRWEB) September 16, 2005 -- The British public may be at their desks following the Ashes win ? but they are not fully back to work yet it seems!

A viral e mail featuring a song that extracts the 4-X out of the Aussies is a big hit with internet users and is being passed from desk to desk!

The song, ?The Ashes Back? by The Pommies feat Big Urn could also soon be on its way into the charts, as the website traffic has convinced a record company to issue the song as a single!

If you have not been passed the e mail yet ? you can check out the song yourself at http://www.thepommies.co.uk

The party is not over yet.

Im not reponsible for producing it but on a general note its been welcomed with open arms by alot of people 'in the game!'..:happy

Who? I'd like to think that the England cricket team had more taste than to like that big pile of crap of a song.

We have bad enough records in the chart already without that being released as a single.

In addition, this is probably just a sad attempt to cash in on the games popularity by a third rate company. The fact that your only posts here have been to advertise this awful song confirm that.

Andrew, Ste gave me permission to post this!!?? I think your being pretty un-reasonable...and those comments are well below the belt. If id have known a moderator was going to respond in that manner i wouldnt have bothered asking and posting the Press Release in the first place. As I said when i first contacted 'the moderators', its abit of fun that someones worked bloody hard on....shame you cant see that.

Just because you have permission to post this does not mean that I am not allowed to state my opinions on it.

Someone may have worked hard on this (they should have worked harder), but that doesn't change my opinion that it's a rubbish song and an attempt to cash in on England's cricket performance.

Are you saying that I should not be allowed to think this?

The fact remains that you have come onto this forum soley for promotional reasons, whereas most of us are here to discuss cricket and cricket video games. The original un-edited version of your original post was on the verge of being spam. Even as it stands it's just an advert.

Yeah you have permission to post this, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Geez, it was a big win yes but COME ON!! Going just a TAD overboard.

May god have mercy on us all if England ever win the Soccer World Cup.

It's a rare event, but I actually agree with JarryD on this one.

Just found out that one of the writers of this song also wrote a song after Liverpool's Champions League win. The whole thing just smells of oppurtunism. Jump on the bandwagon and catch some glory (financial success) before it rolls out of town.

are you a frustrated record producer Andrew?
No. Are you a desperate promoter trying to flog a useless product?

Someone doesn't like a song, and you call them a frustrated record producer. How sad.

The song is written by someone who also wrote a song after Liverpool's Champions League win. I have every right to suspect this person of bandwagon jumping.

No im not a promoter.

On the subject of opportunism then i suppose Simon Cowell, Fat Lez, The Lightening Seeds and the media in general are all oportunistics.....correct me if wrong. Is the person who thought of this site not a opportunist with a interest in CRICKET? Opportunities are inherent in every part of life Mr Nixon and we all are guilty of it. Sorry, presuming your not of course....

Oh and to use a pun, your starting to sound like a stuck record. Thanks for the exposure anyway.

:hpraise

Note that they released their records BEFORE any success, not after.

Well at least you admit you're only after publicity.

Sorry if you think you're being treated harshly, but when someone comes to this forum for the sole purpose of advertising something, not to participate in the various topics on the forum, then they deserve to be treated harshly.

The song actually had airplay on Invicta, BBC World, 5 Live and Sky during the Ashes so you should stand corrected on the release date.. :boxing anyway im off to the pub. have a good weekend..
