The Asian Cricket Council has finally confirmed the hybrid model for this year’s Asia Cup, which will see Pakistan host 4 matches in Lahore, with Sri Lanka hosting the remaining 9 matches. The tournament will begin on 31 August, ending on 17 September.

Nope, apparenly it's going to be Pakistan vs Nepal, plus the three matches from the other group.
Ideally Pakistan and Sri Lanka should swap groups, which would not only allow Pakistan to play an extra game at home, but also balance the two groups.

I read Pakistan had one match in Pakistan. Sounds like Najam Sethi got exactly what the BCCI wanted.

Yeah it was definitely just about standing his ground. India had to shift the whole tournament to the UAE in 2018

Only difference is for India it would not matter at all where they are playing since the income flow would be close to similar as playing at home. Brand India is way higher then brand Pakistan just like Taylor Swift and her shows will be sold out compared to Honey Singh touring and none of the shows would be housefull!

Anyone but the Asia cup teams I would think. I dont even get what this tournament fuss is all about. Just scrap the damn thing.

To be honest with how Zimbabwe are playing, Pakistan would fancy a better series against them. Probably have UAE/Oman and Zimbabwe participate in tri-series.

Also this and the WC has way to much politics involved from BCCI and PCB. SHould just scrap both the teams and let others participate.

Perhaps let Netherlands take India's place in Asia Cup and have Ireland play Pakistan's spot.

Cricinfo is saying he said that he disagrees with the hybrid model but will honour the commitment made by Sethi.
