Adam Gilchrist gets a magnificent 100 with some delicate strokeplay and airiel shots he took the pak bowlers apart



Australia now have 15 overs to bat out and with GilChrist at the crease the aussies will be looking for a massive total

Who else, but the man they call Shoaib Akhtar he came on and was ordered to get a breakthrough becuase the Symond/Gilchrist partnership was turning the tide towards the aussies but a inswinger coming at GilChrist at 98.3MPH uprooted the off stump and sent it flying....

Gilly smashed another 49 runs in quick sucsession to bring up the runrate and with symonds at the crease they knew they were going to hit a massive total

Simon Katich who has made his way to the crease struggled at 1st becuase of the pace of shoaib, was starting to settle in, while at the other end Symonds he was just playing all sorts off shots and got a VERY quick 50. Chances of Australia getting a total over 300+ are looking very bright now

After taking shoaib off and bringing Mohammed Sami back into the attack inzi knew symonds would be a crucial wicket and non the less mohamed sami got a breakthrough and sent the danger man back to the pavillion... symonds attemped to smash a slower ball pitching around off stump to the boundary but got a edge and inzi took a comfortable catch at 2nd slip

Australia hit a massive total....

Well what a innings from the Mighty Aussies they have posted up a huge total of 333-9 with Gilchrist hitting 149* and symonds quick fire 58 from 25 balls. Michael Clarke did some big hitting in the dying overs to raise the total. Here is the replay of the finals wickets to fall..

Michael Clake - Tried his best to smash the ball for a 6 had no control whatsoever of the stroke and was clean bowled by a ball which held its line and hitting off stump, good bowling by Malik who had a Awful day in the field he was the 1st ever bowler to get a three figure sum in a ODI.





Simon Katich - Tried to hit the ball straight down the ground but was decieved by a slower ball from Shoaib Akhtar and therefore giving Shoaib a easy return catch.





Brett Lee - This was interesting to see the battle of the fast pacers but shoaib akhtar is 1 up in there battle as he bowled Lee golden duck, lee trying flick it down the leg side but had his middle stump uprooted.





Jason Gillespie - Gillespie's role was simple he was ordered to some slogging but in the end it cost him his wicket. He tried to drive a ball which was pitched outside off stump and turned quite abit a hitting Off stump. A good wicket for malik.





Brad Hogg - An absolute fast and quick delivery by Shoaib Akhtar trapping Hogg plumb infront, it was a unplayable ball, some might suggest that the ball was going over the stumps but the umpires were dead certain this was not to be.

A great knock there from Gilchrist as Aussies put on a massive total. Now I think pak is in big trouble because scoring against Aussie fast bowlers is not going to be easy. A good bowling performance there from Akhtar. He once again shos his class and worthness in Pak fast bowling attack.
