Bichel lost his spot to Kaspa and that was it for him.
MacGill same old story stuck behind Warne.
Bracken still young, probably will get a go this summer given the form of our bowlers.
Ian Harvey too old and selectors liked the looks of Watson
Michael Bevan lost his ACB contract for no reason apart from being old

I'm not really up to scratch with state cricket. So do we have any good all-rounders coming through??

god bevan should be playing right now same with macgilla, yeh kade harvey is pretty awesome, c white marcus north

Sadly our all rounder stock is down to a guy called Shane Watson. The rest won't come close to Flintoff.
Anyway heres hoping Craig Philipson, Jason Krejza become all rounders.

Rotation policy.

We have scarcely ever needed all-rounders to win, no reason to start demanding one be selected now.

Two names for you. McGrath and Warne! Unless we produce another of these 2 we will need a 5th bowler.

I mean ever.

You talk as though we've never had bowlers like McGrath or Warne. Sure it was a while between the careers of McGrath and Lillee, but since Lillee there have been players like Bruce Reid, Geoff Lawson, Terry Alderman, Paul Reifel or Damian Fleming.

Back in the days of Lillee and Thomson, you still had other great bowlers like Ashley Mallett or Max Walker.

Back before Lillee and Thomo, Alan Davidson was ripping teams apart. Back just a little further and there's Ray Lindwall doing much the same job and, of course, these were the days of the great Richie Benaud.

And so too, do you find Keith Miller, probably the only notable case of an Australian all-rounder batting in the middle order (ie. he could bat like he could bowl).

Of course you can keep going back and back, you will still find the great leg spin bowlers, Clarrie Grimmett and Bill O'Reilly.

But the thing that remains for the most part is that policy of playing 4 bowlers.

If McGrath and Warne end up being trainers after their careers,
I'm sure we will, afterall, you're not born with the instinct of
how to play cricket, it has to be learnt and who better to learn
from then them...Either way, it looks safe.

<<< Finally, I'm not a school boy cricketer anymore...cool!

Andrew.
