Which AVI format do I need so that my DVD player reads it? I noticed some of the AVI videos I have can play in the DVD but when I convert it myself I get a Divx error on my TV. Is there any converting program that is recommended?

If your player supports divx but doesn't play the files, try using an older version of the DivX codec (Dr.Divx is a good encoding program for it but costs money). However I would always recommend you use MPEG-2/1 instead to guarentee compatability.
On my DVD player it can play DivX but only from CDs and doesn't stretch the picture (so it is a small image in the middle of the screen)
