Hi, im new to the forums.

My question is this:

How can I score quick runs in a ODI or similar match. I have no trouble scoring in Test matches but when it comes to one day matches I struggle.

I try to hit 4s and 6s but im usually caught easily. Its a lot harder when you dont have time to build the batsmans confidence.

Any tips? :brickwall

I always play with a pinch hitter when i play as England (Pieterson or Flintoff) to get off to a good start and slog for the 1st 5 overs and then play sensible until the last 5 overs and then slog again.
Just improvise and look for the gaps in the field. dont try and hit the big shots unless the ball is there to be hit.
I fill me team with all rounders to give the batting order some depth.
Best advice really is to practise. when i 1st started playing one dayers i really struggled but as time as gone on things have improved.

I would just suggest building up confidence for a bit if your finding it hard. Because once the confidence is 3/4 full most balls can be hit to the boundry with ease. I think the one-day format has become far more realistic!
