battting and patches - help a new person with BLC

Okay so I'm new to the whole BLC world and I was wondering if some of the seasoned cricketers could point me in the right direction on a few questions...I'm running the software mode if that makes any difference

1> which patches/additions are in your opinion vital for my download?
2> any handy hints on batting?
3> more specifically when am i supposed to hit the ball?

Welcome Eddie,
My recommendations for download;
Srirams field editor (can adjust field placings, rather than just go with the default ones).
Srirams stroke editor (once you get used to BLC, you can adjust power, direction and height of shots).
Zimrahils Test match patch and ODI patch (makes both versions of the game more realistic).
TIM Editor (allows you to make changes to .tim files in the game - kits, adboards,pitchmats, etc).
Search through the BLC Online Downloads section for these and others (kits, bats, etc).
As for batting tips, maybe I'm not the person to advise (!), but it's in the timing (like the real thing). It all depends on the type of bowler you're facing. Just play as much as possible - practice, practice, practice!

yes, srirams field editor is a must - this one piece of software totally re-awoken my interest in the game after not playing it for a year.

There are many good patches. I think the tim editor is great If you want to do editing. Patches wise the great patches for batting and bowling is really good which you can download from this site.

cant seem to find them in the download section...

the test match patch is available in the misc section of the downloads page.
There was a ODI patch but this was mistakenly overwritten with the test match patch.
As long as you dont have a hotmail email account, then leave your details and I will email the ODI patch to you
