My pic would be Zaheer Khan, Don't blame bias, just as aussies and english players. Ask Alaister cook and Simon katich who were dimissed my two beautiful reverse swinging yorkers. Ask Matty Hayden whom he made his bunny in the whole series or recently just ask U.P Team who were jus destroyed by zak. U.P. were sailing comfotably on a flat deck at 202/4 against Mumbai in Ranji Trophy final. then Zak hit the 5th gear. took 5 wickets,of those 5 wickets 4 come in space of 8 balls. he was swinging ball at his will both ways. finished with innings figure of 7/54 of 28 overs with 14 maidens.thus u.p stumbled from 202/4 to 245 all out.

Here are Wasim Akram's Words for Zak, " He has as much control over reverse swing as i used to have in my peak, he maybe a little slower than me but, is in no way short of me in the skill of reversing the ball both ways."

Its really sad whe u see bowler just depending upon conditions to take wickets, just look at lee,he had an awefull time in india. back home in australia in perth he destroyed the mediocore kiwis. if you wanna be a great bowlers then you had to perform even on flat decks which dont assist seamers. like Zaheer khan does. or like Glenn Macgrath,Wasim Akram,Waqar,Shaun Pollock used to do.

to me foreign decks rather than flat decks are more of a factor. No doubt Zaheer Khan is one of the more inform bowlers in the world, he swings the ball well and it wasnt his deliveries to Matty Hayden that confirmed it because Hayden has been in fairly poor form since returning up until retirement, his delivery to Michael Clarke imo at the death of the day was the one I remember.

Mitchell Johnson and Sharma are probably together the most improved fast bowlers while Steyn is probably in the best form.

Australia is a tough place to bowl as a quick but Steyn still got bags of wickets and swung the ball when recognised swing bowlers like Bollinger couldnt.

I would say Dale Steyn just ahead of Zaheer Khan with Mitch and Ishant even at third.

For Steyn as well Perth and Melbourne were absolute roads as well so i think we got a small taste of his ability on flat decks.

how come you forgot the delivery that dismissed Simon Katich After a Hundred?Reverse swinging yorker.reminded me of good old Wasim akram. As far a s hayden is concerned, well he was in pretty good form untill the India Tour. Zaheer started hi downfall.

P.S: ZOMG Aus hasnt managed to sneak even a single win against india in 2008, it all started with that year ending Monkeygate in dec 2007,after that perth,C.B. series,India tour. OMG OMG .

it started with two non dismissals but that is completely beside the point.

What i want to know is why me deciding to pick Dale Steyn over Zaheer Khan turned into a India v Australia debate which is even more irrelevant.

You can talk about the ball that Zaheer bowled to get rid of Katich or Cook and ill talk about the 78 wickets at an average of 20 in the last 12 months.

Steyn with his average of 20 in India is proof he can handle flat decks as well i would think.

Zaheer on the other hand has taken 27 wickets in at an average of 36 in the same time frame.

Dale Styn(Yet to be tested on Flat Decks)

What an earth's that supposed to mean? He's played against every single international side, and still maintains his very good record. Steyn's easily the best Test bowler at the minute, with probably Mitchell Johnson or Zaheer Khan in ODi's.

Bracken instead of Johnson imo. but yeah i think someone is doing some fishing

yeah and he chooses Shaun Tait who can only make the 20/20 sides because 2 over spells suit him

Think I'm going to give up reading his threads tbh, they always annoy the hell out of me. I've told him how to spell Pietersen about 4 times but he still insists on chucking an O in there, even when quoting my posts. The grammar is always woeful, the opinions always ridiculously biased and his posts always seem to have the structure of Karl Pilkington's brain. Just ideas rushing about in his head, bumping off stuff, just being spouted out in a random order making everything incredibly difficult to understand. The amount of crap flooding this section of the forums in the past few days has been ridiculous.

Edit: Actually, it seems that since those VCash threads moved to the Cricket Chat section we've been inundated with crap spouted from a few members, may be a coincidence, but I don't think it is.

well is that so?. I provided you concrete fact in the forum of Best Batsmen in next decade. The Facts you are so reluctant to stand by. Go there an have a look if you havent read that yet, they might open your eyes to realistic world and may help you come out of your honeymoon in wonderland with Pietersen.(i knew how to spell it,but i keep on mispelling it just to irritate u)

As fas as Flintoff is concernd, i am sorry that i forgot to include him on the poll, he his my fav bowler and is lethal no matter what track he bowls. Sorry to flintoff fans.

I wonder were the flat decks in the world are, certainly not Pakistan, India or Australia because Steyn bowled well in all those conditions. In Australia there was no Swing, no movement off the pitch, they ball went nicely onto the bat and he still got 18 wickets. Khan is good but if the ball doesn't swing then he will struggle.

Shaun Tait should not be in the poll, and since when does a T20 and ODI specialist need more control. You say Sharma because of him having Ponting as his bunny but Brian Lara was Andre Nel's bunny for a season, does that make andre nel one of the best of that time?

Well don't mind but actually you can't set a poll with your personal favorites. You must have to present a proper stats when you comparing bowlers.
How could you put S Tait there? He has not played international cricket since long time.
It is not about your personal favorites, you must have some kind of formula like Highest wickets,Best average before comparing them randomly.

What,If I say J Taylor is better than S Tait?
I have stats to prove because Tait has not played many matches in late.

So overall this thread is bias.

lol this thing is a joke. Tait included in a poll with the best bowlers of the past year or so? He played less than a handful of matches in the last 12 months and you include him.

Steyn yet to be tested on flat tracks??? I guess you didn't see his performance in Pakistan and India not exactly a fast bowlers paradise.

Your reason for including Sharma is because he got Ponting out a few times??
Bias in every meaning of the word if you ask me.

Also you forgot Ntini, check his record this year.
