hello ppl,
i have finished one season with australia and in the whole season i lost just 1 one day and drew 1 test..won everything else.:)
anyways i spotted that though i was able to post huge batting totals ,i wasnt quite able to get those early breakthroughs and dismiss sides within 200 or so..as in both innings the sides did make it to arnd 250 in both innings..but myscore being anrd 550-600 they would usually loose by an innings..but the problem came in one days where it would turn out to be very neck to neck..infact i have won most of my matches by a margin of just a few runs or overs as the other teams usually do manage to get over 200 or sometimes around 250.
my bowling attack is quite good consisting of warne, mcgrath, gillispie, lee, watson and macgill.
any tips regarding line and length would be useful.
in the entire season i have used the trick of bowling against the batsmen's preferences i.e if the batsmen prefers leg side and back foot then i bowl in his offstump and overpitched balls.but that hasnt seemed to have helped..though i havent lost a match.:D

any tips would be useful.
Thanx.

Just because a batsmens strengths are eg back foot and offside doesnt mean his weakness is full pitched at legstump.
Its just not his favourite.

You also should mix up your line and length if you keep bowling the same line and length all day the batsmen will get used to it so if someones got 30 runs and you have just been bowling the same stuff change your line an length to him for a few overs.

thx for the tips sman..rite from icc 2000 i have been using that stratregy and was very successful in icc 2000 and 2002 ..so i tried the same..but was not very successful.i will try out ur tips and will let u know the result..

One tip for bowling sides out, is have a very good spinner in your side, or at least a half decent one. If you have a good spinner (Afridi is more than good enough especially with what he offers with that bat too). It not only allows you to play only 3 seamers, but gives you someone that tail enders and even good batsman have real trouble playing on the 3rd and 4th days. If your batting lineup is a talented one, you can afford to prepare a spinners wicket, play two spinning allrounders, and 3 seamers. Giving me at least plenty of runs, and plenty of wickets ;)

If it's a seamers pitch, quality spinners still get wickets, whilst allowing one to bowl from one end and the seamers to come on in bursts from the other.
