I know peeps have said practise and use your manual for bowling but i have done this to no avail. Even when i play as the all stars against nambibia they either hit me for 4 or 6 every ball. after the second over on one game i had given 62 runs against me - this is really frustrating. And when i finally got into to bat they took 4 wickets in the first over all caught on leg drives. I dont know if there could be a bug or just im really crap but it doesnt seem right. it seems a good game and all but i am very close to chucking it cos it just seems a joke. And by the way this is all on the easy setting as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Search the forum for bowling tips as there are plenty around. That said practice is the best way to improve... :p

one thing you could try is placing all your fielders on the off side.....covering the boundry as much as possible down that side. The continuesly bowl down that side....it gets a bit boring after a while but it will get results....the 1st 2 times i used this tactic i bowled my opposition out for 7 runs and 11 runs

I found a good bowling technique with Ashley Giles for England (Slow Left Arm). You need to pitch the ball quite close to the batmans feet in and around there and a little to the offside(left handers) or just near the feet, leaving enough room for the ball to pitch and turn. Then with the spin move the dot diagonally up and right so its in the top right. Then use about 3 quaters power. With your field set aggressive, they never block it properly and u get catches. Only works though with batsman who have just got in but i got 6 in and innings getting South Africa out for about 80. worked on a hard pitch for me and normal pitch!!!

Don't worry shnilly, we all take time to master the game. I suggest taking some time in the game's practice nets, as this is a good way of improving because you have Jim Maxwell telling you how you did.

When I bowl in tests, I pitch the ball very very short and with no power (with a pacer) and, because the batsmen don't have to rush themselves, they normally leave the ball and get out L.B.W. (This doesn't always work. Be patient.) On the batting side, think about where the bowler is pitching the ball, and try not to attempt to hit it for six every ball. A yorker obviously needs a forward defensive. Do use your manual, as it gives you some guidance and tips on controls and actions.

Play one dayers and tests against the lower teams, and as you beat them well, move up the ladder e.g. v Namibia, v Bangladesh, v Netherlands etc.

Also move through the dfficulty levels to master them one by one. I wouldn't recommend using patches until you've done this sequence.

Good Luck :drinks

I think that depends on the patch. (Admittedly, most make batting a lot harder). Some of the default pacing is horrendous. They go ballistic from the off. Either that, or they leave / block for 2 overs... and then go ballistic.

I agree with the rest of your post though :)

You're playing 10 or 20 over games right? If you want proper batting (well not proper, or even good, but the best it gets in the game) play 50

Yeah the default pacing for 10/20 overs is appalling - they basicaly go to swipe at each and every ball. More often than not it goes for 4s and 6s. Try 50 overs and tests against the lesser teams, and keep trying.

Yeah, try tests as they have more chances to bat without rushing yourself. On default settings I get annoyed with test bowling though...

I'm using CoolGamePlay Patch beta version, and it works wonderfully.

I've found that "leg theory" works quite well when you are starting out (I've only owned the game for a few days so far). Put as many fielders close in on the leg side as you can get away with (obviously you are only allowed 2 behind square) and bang in short deliveries on leg stump or thereabouts.
