I'm new to forums so sorry if people have read this in my other thread.
My idea for bowling is this:
First of all you could have wind direction as a variable in the game (to encourage swing and drift, like in cricket 97).
Secondly, u should be able to manipulate the ball icon on the HUD ie- Move the seam so it points towards the slips to get outswing, fine-leg for inswing and leave the seam relatively straight to find the seam. U should be able to pick a side of the ball too shine at the start of an innings so as the overs tick by u get on side shinier than the other to encourage swing. More seam movement is needed in the game as well. In real life the ball moves quite often on a good bowling pitch. In c2k5 when you get a ball to seam the batsmen will miss it and so will the keeper (unless u bowl the batsmen). In all honesty this is pathetic! Surely my ball icon manipulation idea can't be that hard to implement! I see post after post concentrating on the trivial issues of the game rather than the basic and most important mechanics of the game ie- bat on ball physics, ball on pitch physics, and ball through the air physics. Brian lara made more of an effort with this!
