Brad Hodge

I`ll tell you the one and only reason why he isnt selected. He`s a Victorian. What the hell do you expect from the bloody biased selectors :p

Nah, I actually want him to be in the squad, like some people mentioned, he`s a gun in Domestic cricket, why not give him another go?

His time is past. I've always wanted him in the team, but now, it's too late. If Michael Hussey gets dropped, which I think he should, then Watson should slip down to 5 or 6, Clarke up to 4, and Hughes come back in to open. Hodge could be a better option than David Hussey for the spot, though, but Hussey is younger, plus I personally prefer him.

No more Test cricket for Bradley, but I still believe he has some ODI cricket left in him.

If it was me, I'd feel cut to be not included in the T20 World Cup after dominating the IPL for Kolkata. It's like what does he have to do to earn a spot. I would honestly take Clarke out of T20 squad (His average speaks for itself, though not for ODI) and play Hodge instead.

I agree with dropping Clarke for Twenty20's, and I've said that multiple times. Unfortunately, he is the vice captain, and often leads the side in Twenty20.

To me, I'd much rather Domestic form than IPL. I also hate players gaining automatic selection. Cameron White always gets picked in our Twenty20 side, even though he is a slow batsmen who can play the big shots occasionally. He is rubbish, and one of the most overrated players by the selectors. Clark, for example, is extremely underrated, and so is Hauritz, for mine.

The selectors obviously don't like him, it's more than them thinking he's too old. It might be because he complains incessantly about the fact that he hasn't been selected. Both times he's been dropped he's been coming off great form in the test team, but in the end I think he's out of the equation.

The most confusing thing is that the selectors keep giving him a central contract, which makes no sense whatsoever.

Why are we still even talking about the fat bastard?

He is past it and sifter's post is the post of all posts about Podge.

The stats don't tell the full story for the sloth that is Brad Podge and we would much rather a younger batsmen in our middle order.

He's hardly a fat bastard, he just looks a bit stocky because he's short.

He may be too old to be considered now, but he's still one of the best batsmen in the country.

I don't see David being considered. Hes not even in our ODI squad, he is now only playing T20 which is a sure sign they have lost faith in him.

Well he's failed to convert his starts into big scores on too many occasions in the ODI arena, and I don't think he's our best option in test cricket. 12 months ago I would've said definitely coming off a great year, but he didn't really do that well last summer, was overshadowed by Rogers, Jewell and Hodge just in our team. I think even Wade scored more runs than him.

Why is this thread still existing?

Can we please have this deleted so we don't have to talk about The Whingeing Brad Podge anymore? He is a joke. He missed a match because he was trying to put his pants on ffs. He was never going to have a career after that was he? Useless. An absolute tosser, thought he was mad - but he was the Mark Ramp'n'bash of Australia.

:facepalm

Agree he had the chance to take the spot that North currently holds but continually through last season he threw his wicket away. And this wasn't just the ODI arena, he had quite a few starts even 50s in the Shield last season but hardly converted any of them.

He seems to get bored at the crease sometimes, just throws his wicket away too often. Same with White I'll add.

If this is the way they're going with him, I'd rather hand his contract spot to either Adam Voges or David Warner.
