Monthly Review:

Well one of the most weirdest months of cricket you'll ever see. Started off pretty ordinarily with a loss against Kent and a high scoring draw against Hampshire with Stafford smashing a double century. We had a very weird FC match against Warwickshire though as I quickly slipped to 5/117 in reply to their 403 all out with Park and Afridi, who had done ████ all with the bat all season. Park made 151 and Afridi made 119 though before Arif put in some handy runs down the order as we had a 30 run lead. Rankin and Pears completely ripped through them though to bowl them out for 100 and chased the target of around 70 with ease. We had the next match in the bag then scoring 253 from our 40 overs and Mitchell bowled a great spell to get them to 8/148. Pears then got the wicket of Cutting for 11 and they were 9/177. Chambers combined with the set Pettini then though to get them home, Pettini making 101* while Chambers finished not out on 34. Then we had a high scoring thriller against Leicestershire chasing down their huge total of 292 thanks to Park, Mitchell, Stafford and Adler. We needed a big win for our last game and we got it thanks to a terrific spell of bowling from Boyd Rankin, taking 8/32, bowling Essex out for 86 in reply to our 315 and in our last FC match, a great combined second innings bowling performance had them all out for 82 with Pears leading the way with 4/28 with the other bowlers giving solid help, as we ended up winning easily.

It's been an injury hit season for Julian Stafford with only 16 games over all formats this season but he has completely ripped it up, with 2 FC centuries including a double century and 2 OD centuries, with 507 FC runs @ 101.4 in 5 matches and 353 OD runs @ 70.8 in 6 matches. Adler got his chance in the T20 Internationals, and made good use of them with scores of 29 and 25 to keep his English chances alive, although wasn't selected for the ODI series against South Africa.

End Of Season Update

7th September (CC D1) ? Worcestershire 311/8 dec. (Park 84, Afridi 73, Choudhry 54, Wainwright 5/76) and 73/1 (Mitchell 30*, Rashid 1/21) drew Yorkshire 302 a.o. (Bairstow 82, Afridi 4/36, Pears 2/52)

13th September (CC D1) ? Worcestershire 416 a.o. (Kervezee 99, Adler 71, Afridi 68, Adams 3/45) and 105/2 (Kervezee 46*, Stafford 22*) def. Nottinghamshire 278 a.o. (Hales 58, Patel 51, Afridi 4/56, Arif 2/42) and 237 a.o. (Mullaney 62, Shafayat 40, Rankin 6/73, Pears 2/47) by 8 wickets

Season Review:

Well an absolute thriller in the last game of the season, winning on the last ball of the game to edge out the Championship, by 5 points. Norris was injured only a day before the game, which meant Afridi was promoted to open the batting, while Kervezee came back into the side. Both were the difference, as Kervezee smashed 99 and 46*, while Afridi made a solid half century and a quick fire innings in the second innings, while taking 4/56 in the first innings with the ball, to take MOTM. So an end to a great season. Garry Park finished his season with 1710 runs @ 68.40 in the County Championship, to go with his 584 runs @ 73 in the OD format. He was the top FC batsman in the Championship, topping the run charts in FC cricket this season. Shahid Afridi meanwhile, capped off a great season, with 56 wickets @ 21.87 in FC, and although his horrible start to the season with the bat, he managed to finish with 571 runs @ 22.95. He didn't make much of an impact in the OD format though. Pears was the best bowler of the season, the young gun taking 79 FC wickets @ 26.3 to go with another 32 wickets @ 14.16 in the Challenge Trophy, and also proved to be handy with the bat with 232 runs, including a half century. Julian Stafford also was great in his injury stricken season, only playing 7 FC games and 6 OD games all up but was superb, taking over as captain in the games which Kervezee missed, with 579 FC runs @ 82.71 and 353 OD runs @ 70.6. The biggest disappointment of the season had to be new signing, Steven Kirby though. He played in 2 FC matches but only managed 1 wicket in the two along with 2 wickets in 3 OD matches, which makes his chances of being resigned for next season very small. It was a great season all-round though and we would hope to see more of the same next season.

Well I figured I should finish the season but I think it's time we stopped. I'm going to continue my save but I don't really feel like updating on it anymore regularly and yeah so we should stop.
