BUGLIST !!!

Just got my game delivered today and am really enjoying it except for one major bug which really annoys me

I can handle the fielder walking on the pitch as it is only for one ball. I can handle cpu bowling down legside occasionally and it going for byes cause all u need to do is shuffle along and block it but I cannot stand at all the defaulting of the teams when you save a game, I mean what is the point of playing a test match if you cant save it half way through.

For Example I started a Caribbean tour with England and belive it or not Andy Flintoff is not in the England default team so I brought him, Mark Butcher and Simon Jones into my team. In the first innings Flintoff got a hundred and two wickets and Jones got three wickets so how annoyed was I when I loaded my saved game and neither were playing anymore.

I emplore someone somewhere to find a remedy for this as it is definitely the games most annoying bug.

Anyway thats my spleen vented.

burnsy u said u r getting smashed through coers and u r playing pak probaly u do have a cover fieldsmen but pak is just smashing u...that is no glitch :P jk mate

moreover i told u guys how to fix the rain thingy...when it gets overcast save after every over and then when it starts to rain, YOU MUST EXIT THE GAME U R CURRENTLY PLAYING(in other words just exit the test/odi) after that u resume it...soon as u enter it will rain but then it will stop

This trick i did while playing in windies against england....the ain came and i had to exit ymy game but once i re-entered t was fine again and even if u reload it all your players are still there for the first inning but go back to defauly for second innings(this is out of me reach)

Its just where i like to bowl the ball when i have the field setup they way i want but now its gone back to default team i dont have that prob anymore they just keep edging to slips now :) .

good work...i hope u still arent playing pak...what did we do to deserve this

i want to play the game but i cant :(

i cant wait til Feb 10 when my mom comes back, she said she would help me buy a new cpu and since i have to wait she puts in more :D

I'm playing the sub-continent tour so they are just the next in line for a whooping.

I've been playing the game since Christmas Eve and have encountered most of the bugs mentioned above. Does anyone think these bugs are serious? I mean shouldn't some minor playtesting have picked them up? Very shoddy work HB Studios.

Other bugs not mentioned are:

- Excessives wides, leg byes and byes...must be some terrible wicketkeepers around the world.
- Adding a custom player to a squad. I found I had to try several times before a player actually remained in the squad without being over-written by the default team.
- Run Rates in One Dayers can be excessive, even with good bowling.
-Edges through the slips are excessive too...once or twice in an innings can be expected but not 12-15 times without being caught.

I didn't see the 'rain never stopping' bug mentioned here...this is a bad one because you have to quit the game - you can't even save it...it just rains forever!

Also the commentary just stopping halfway through an innings and NEVER coming back on....lol, any more we haven't mentioned?

oh yeah, the running between the wickets - the controllers often do not respond to the run request - by the time the batsmen does start running he gets run out...

bollocks...these bugs kill the game, which would be good otherwise....

*Cpu fielders cath the ball on the boundary, then throwing it up in the air it goes over the boundary and it's gone from the batsman getting out to hitting a boundary or six!
That's what happens in real life, so it's not a bug. [/b]
No no no Andrew Nixon 79, I'm not a fool........I find it hard to believe and accept anyone could defend this as not a bug!

Quite simple once the fieldsman has control of the ball and has caught it, he throws it up in jubilation that he has taken a catch (like all fielders do on cricket 2004)......

When a fieldsman on the boundary catches it, he takes it as a catch, the commentators say he is out, what a cath or whatever!, and then he throws it up in jubilation (AFTER HE HAS TAKEN CONTROL OF THE BALL) and it happens to go over the rope and land on the grass...all of a sudden the batsman gets 4 or 6 for it instead of being out!!

Now it wouldn;t be very realistic if cricket 2004 allowed a fieldsman to intentially do it or for it to be claimed as a dropped catch now would it?....it doesn't realistically happen like that!!!....if the fieldsman took the catch in the game then stepped over the rope, then that would be different!! It's a definate oversight in the game.

I certainly hope you were being sarcastic with that reply....coz anybody could see it's 1 bug in a long line of bugs with the game...if not then I'm afraid you're a staunch HB employee!

Many apologies I mis-understood your post. When you said "on the boundary" I assumed you meant actually on the boundary ie. standing on the boundary

What you mis-understood really does happen in the game. Unlike Cricket 2002, when you hit a shot and the fielder stops it on or over the rope, the umpire will signal it as a 4 or a 6. That shows HB has also improved in some areas while lacking in others.

Its good to know that the boundary problem is fixed in c2k4. It is really annoying in 2k2 when you have like 8 to win in 2 balls and u hit 2 balls to the boundary and he is well outside the boundary when he fields it and all u get is 2 twos!
