Generally people respect the police, however lots of people are frustrated at the apparent invisibility of them (although recently i have seen a lot more "on the beat") Most of the people who refer to them as pigs etc have usually committed a crime and feel it was unjust (say minor traffic offences which they have been fine when they fault a caution would have been reasonable etc. or perhaps recreational drug (primarily cannabis) use which they don;t think should be illegal)

However currently their is lots of paperwork that goes with being a police officer, which detracts from the time they can spend actually policing. This criticism from the average man is aimed at the system though and not actual officers on the street.

Police is good, I don't think UK Police is Racist (some "pakis" say they are, stupid ones). They delt with my case very well. I got respect for every Police apart from few countries.

I feel i should have watched it but because it wasnt on a commerial channel i didnt.

I respect police officers a lot and think they do a great job.
As ste said, it's mostly only people who have commited crimes or chavs who hate the police, the majority respect them so I wouldn't be afraid of doing it just because of what the minority think.
Good luck with it if that's what you want to do, you sound very interested in it .

Yeah it was good! One of the better ones in the series so far imo, even if didn't have enough of Frank, his moments were still by far the funniest.
