From what I've experienced you're pretty much stuck with burgers, pies, hot dogs and chips at most sporting events.
If you're very lucky you may get some noodles or a semi decent hot roll but it's a 1 in 100 chance.
We tend to find a quiet pub and have some reasonable grub beforehand (or after if it's an afternoon kick off) when watching football. Cricket lends itself to a picnic so that's normally the preferred option, shame that the weather is normally cack.
As you well know theres the pub right next to the ground. You can get a good meal, do whatever you feeellll....YMCA (Singing for Matt's benefit) Sorry....
Nah, seriously, you can get good food (i.e. roasts) in the pub. What I tedn to do during the summer is go to Tescos and take stuff from home and eat that stuff at Hove.
And the prices are shocking. ?2 for a small punet of chips. I'll bring my own potatoes next time, chip them up and cook them myself (probably happens in the derived northern parts of England )
I went to Headingley to see Yorkshire against Scotland in the C&G Trophy last season and as a tea was being bought the vendor said that she didn't have much left. This was only about 3.00pm. I would have thought the vendor would have had more tea than she did.
Nah the have the really overpriced private companies who makes these crisps with like "finest salt" and stuff that really just taste like stale walkers with sea water on. ?2 for a bottle of 500ml coke which I can get for 70p from tesco!
