I thought that qualification took 3 years. Isn't that the way Tahir has qualified to play for SAF ?

England have I believe the strictest qualification criteria around requiring 7 years for over 18s.

Tahir qualified through 4 years residence.

Brendan Taylor is an awful keeper, so he certainly wouldn't remove the gloves from Buttler anyway. He'd have to lose some weight if he wanted to play for England and was eligible.

He's not great behind the stumps but I wouldn't call him awful. I agree on his weight though, I think he's in for a shock when he joins up with Notts. In saying that, Samit Patel isn't exactly fit either.
