Adam Crosthwaite and Cameron White's fifties, alongside Brad Hodge's boisterous 28 power the Bushrangers to 177 despite Allan Donald's fast-bowling brilliance.
Allan Donald dismantled Victorian Bushrangers' top-order, picking-up two wickets in the very first over which was then followed by another wicket in the 3rd over.

Donald's double-strikes reduced the Bushrangers to 20/3 before Brad Hodge retaliated with a 12-ball 28. Hodge's innings brought the Bushrangers innings back up.
However, going overboard with his attacking stroke-play cost him his wicket to Nicky Boje in the 5th over. Adam Crosthwaite took on the mantle with his captain.

As Him and Cameron White resuscitated the Bushrangers', adding 95 runs for the 5th-wicket. Both Him and White achieved their fifties during their 95-run pairing.
Allan Donald was brought back into the attack for the final over, but by then, his early scare was undone. He did pick-up two more wickets to complete a 5-fer.

Oh, oh dear! Diamond Eagles lose by a considerable margin of 27 runs, despite Allan Donald's sublime figures of 5/17. Bushrangers score a much-needed win.
First it was White and Crosthwaite's fightback that brought the Bushrangers back into the game, then it was a concentrated bowling-effort that got them the win.

Shane Warne, Shane Harwood, Peter Siddle and Mick Lewis each bagged two wickets apiece with none of them being standouts but all of them having an impact.
Boeta Dippenaar's robust 49 off 44 balls and Nicky Boje's 42-ball 51 were the cornerstones of the Eagles' innings, but they failed to find support from anyone else.

Roger Telemachus did come out to bat in the end with all guns blazing, but his tenacious 9-ball 21 went down in vain just like Dippenaar and Boje's sturdy knocks.
Victorian Bushrangers escape with an overly impressive win in spite of Allan Donald's incredible 5-fer, 'cause it seemed as though he was the Allan Donald of old.

Diamond Eagles crumble to a modest 130. Multiple batsmen in their lineup found starts but none of them could capitalize and convert them into something big.
Particularly Jacques Rudolph and Cliffe Deacon, two batsmen who have been the mainstays of the their team. Today they faltered, and so did their entire team.

Once again the Eagles' top-order underdelivered and put them in a place of trouble. Had it not been for players chipping in, they would've been in a worse place.
Phil DeFreitas and Darren Stevens starred with the ball, picking up 4 for 28 and 3 for 14 respectively. Mark Cleary had a noteworthy dismissal of Davy Jacobs.

Diamond Eagles almost ran away with the win! David Masters and Charl Willoughby's last-wicket stand saves Leicestershire Foxes from an unimaginable defeat.
After having bowled the Eagles out for a mere 130, Leicestershire Foxes nearly failed the run-chase and lost from a position that should've ensured an easy win.

But the Eagles hadn't given up yet. Their bowlers almost pulled off a sensational win before the Foxes held onto their nerves and got themselves over the line.
Jeremy Snape and Paul Nixon played pivotal roles in recovering their team's lost momentum after Cliffe Deacon and Roger Telemachus' explosive opening spells.

Another collapse, this time towards the end of the innings saw the Foxes in a place of worry again. This time, it was Charl Willoughby's flurry that saved them.
Leicestershire Foxes score the win after failing to do so in a very similar situation from their previous encounter, giving their fierce rivalry the perfect encore.

The top order, which was our strength in 2006, is now starting to annoy me. WTH Dippenaar?

2006 - 245 runs in 6 innings
Now - 31 in 4 innings.

The bowlers did their very best, just it wasn't a big enough score to defend. No complaints whatsoever with the bowlers.

The dressing went quite numb when Cleary walked back to the pavillion . The win from there is just miracle !

The Darren Stevens over in which both the set batsmen were out , that was the point from where their innings was held back . Phil bowled supremely with a 4-fer ....

Two incredibly constructed fifties from Aaron Finch and David Hussey on a bowler-friendly wicket take the Bushrangers to a massive score of 171/4 in 20.0 overs.
Victorian Bushrangers got off to a flyer, scoring 32 runs in the first 3.0 overs. Even an early dismissal of Michael Klinger failed to put a halt to their approach.

Aaron Finch partnered with David Hussey to drive the Victorian Bushrangers' innings to a massive total of 171. Both batsmen ended up achieving well-fought fifties.
The Foxes' bowlers did not seem to have an answer for these two batsmen. A mistimed slog from Aaron Finch is what brought this pairing to an end in the 16th over.

Ottis Gibson finished with absolutely woeful figures of 0 for 45 in his full 4-over quota. Darren Stevens was also uneconomical, giving away 24 runs in just 2.0 overs.
Mark Cleary claimed two ineffective wickets in his 3.0 overs, giving away 27 runs. Leicestershire Foxes' strength had let them down in this all-important encounter.

Comprehensive victory for the Victorian Bushrangers. Shane Warne stars with the ball, picking-up a 5-wicket haul as the Bushrangers defeat the Foxes by 40 runs.
The Foxes' batting line completely crumbled against the Bushrangers, with their top and middle-order being skittled for 41. A late fightback was never enough.

Ottis Gibson and Darren Stevens attempted to rejuvenate the Foxes' chase, but their efforts proved to be scarce. In the end, the Foxes suffered a 40-run defeat.
Shane Warne took all the limelight by claiming a 5-wicket haul as he starred with the ball. Peter Siddle and Shane Harwood claimed two wickets apiece as well.

Mick Lewis also chimed in with the dismissal of Darren Maddy right at the top. With this loss, the Foxes became the first team in the season to lose a home game.
Victorian Bushrangers score a much-needed victory to stay at the top place in the ladder. This defeat could very well spell the end of the road for Leicestershire.

To say Diamond Eagles' decision to bat first on a pitch like this was bold would be a massive understatement. But it did turn out to be the right decision eventually.
Loots Bosman was once again the star for the Eagles with a blistering knock of 71 runs from 48 deliveries. Bosman's knock laid the groundwork for Eagles' 174/5.

Cliffe Deacon's fifty is also praiseworthy. Had it not been for those two, Diamond Eagles would not have even crossed 150 given the state of their other batsmen.
The decision to play Morne van Wyk and Jonathan Beukes in place of Davy Jacobs and Boeta Dippenaar completely flopped. More so than the latter two's forms.

Deon Kruis dismissed van Wyk and Beukes in the first over for golden ducks to insert pressure on the opposition. In spite of that, he finished with 2/35 in 4.0 overs.
Johan van der Wath also bagged two wickets, dismissing Loots Bosman and Jacques Rudolph. Allan Donald claimed the wicket of Cliffe Deacon before he sped up.

A gritty knock from Johan van der Wath and a desperate fightback from Davy Jacobs were just not enough for the Diamond Eagles to secure a necessary victory.
Diamond Eagles' bowlers ran all over their opposition with Roger Telemachus' 4-wicket haul stealing the spotlight from Loots Bosman's 48-ball 71 in the first innings.

Dillon du Preez also picked-up three wickets to his name, albeit at a much more expensive economy. Ryan McLaren claimed two scalps that wrapped-up the game.
Cliffe Deacon dismissed Loots Bosman before he even had the chance to get going. A complete bowling performance from the Eagles helped avenge a crushing loss.
