Computer problem

Hmmm, get your LCD replaced if you can as its wearing out fast now. The whiteness is actually the backlight, can't be a virus. It works well after restart since the LCD gets power cycled which also gives the zapping effect to the inside electronics.

Got another error with my comp bloody walking time bomb!

Usually when I push the "turn off computer" button in the Start menu I get this error.

Ok i think now what is it.

Did you try memtest ? www.memtest86.com
Try this tool - Maybe your RAM is faulty. This happens to me. Because if a particular secotr in a RAm is faulty, it would only give an errror when windows touches the sector. Download the iso and burn it, then boot with the cd, let the test complete itself and see you get any errors.

I'll give that a try. Is the iso meant to be so small? A bit weird burning something under 1mb.

@siddharth this is just a theme still on XP.

Oh yea got that first error again.

That error is unique, never came across it. Will do a search and see if there's any solution to it. But, yes a leak in the memory could be a problem. At worst, you may to re-build your machine.

Ok, took a file but this came in e-mail.

Annoying Bug in Vista Corrupts Screen Display
A number of subscribers have written about a problem in Vista where the screen display has black or transparent sections and/or toolbars go missing. It's a known bug and Microsoft has a hotfix [1]. The problem apparently occurs when a Vista system is left running for a long period of time. You have to contact Microsoft for the hotfix but there's a simple work-around: restart Explorer. You can restart Explorer in Vista using the stock standard Windows technique of killing the explorer.exe process in Task Manager then clicking the Task Manager Applications tab, selecting Add then type in "explorer". It's a neat little Windows trick to have in your repertoire whenever you get a corrupted or frozen screen.
