Is there a simple way to make the cpu batting better, less edges, less likely to play stupid shots etc? What im hoping is for example if I wanted the cpu batting to be improved in ODI, i just amend something under ODI Hard in the cfg editor?

Also again if i wanted the CPU batting to bat slower in One day games and play less riskey shots until fully settled, are there any values under ODI Hard that I could amend to do this?

Many thnaks

Ask a patch maker for this, they will be able to do it for you.

Tom for reducing the edges you will need to drop the following values in ODI hard (for ODIs) and Test hard (for tests)

BatEdgeDifficulty 0.106669
BatEdgeStroke 0.003652
BatEdgeAverage 0.106669

To make CPU bat slower, reduce the agg & mod values in the 1 day 50. Also increase the def value in the same file. This will hold good for 50 overs ODI game. Few trials and errors you will be able to get it to a stage which may suit your style of gaming. Good luck.

i want to know

Hi ravi, Will u tell me which parameter to change the way that improves/increases TEST matches run rate by CPU?(aggressive like aus that scores around 3.5-4 always!!!)

Will u enlighten my doubt?

Thanks Ravi, I notice the BatEdgeDifficulty, BatEdgeStroke, BatEdgeAverage appears under the Human stroke difficulty section, does this mean then that it doesnt reduce the cpu batting edges just the human?

Re: i want to know

Boss, its a bit tricky this one. The test matches don't really have pacing file it kinda uses the inbuilt values. You may want to alter the following values and see if it makes any difference :

CpuBallsFaced 4.9
CpuTacticsDefend 2.2
CpuBattingMatchType 4.0

Decrease CpuBallsFaced to something like 0.1, it settles the CPU batsman fairly quickly and this in turn makes the batsman to start playing shots early in the inning.

Not entirely sure but dropping CpuTacticsDefend to 0.4 or less used to make the CPU batsman defend less in C2K2, it may still be effective for C2K4 too.

You can also try and reduce the CpuBattingMatchType to 0.2 or something, this used to change the CPU batting approach to ODI kind of mode in C2K2, this may also still work for C2K4.

If all the above stuff fail to work you will need to change few strokes from being moderate/aggressive to defensive. This will make the CPU use these strokes instead of defending.

CPU edges too Tom although the edge value in the stroke files seem to have more bearing on the CPU.

thanx

Hi Ravi,

Thank u for u'r info. I'll try the parameters and let you tell if the test batting aggressiveness can be changed!

For test matches i just changed a lot of shots to defensive, then the cpu plays then a lot more.

if you dont change some of the drives or leg glances etc..., then the cpu just blocks and scores the occasioanl 1 run every 3 overs!, lol
