PREVIEW, M16: Mumbai Indians vs Southampton Samurai
Two of the most consistent sides who failed in the Play-offs in season 1 will take on each other for the 16th Match of the second edition of the great tournament.
Both have won losing one of their first two and three games respectively. Heads will be on for the match at the Wankhede Stadium, the crowd have also supported the team from the bottom of the heart regardless of the results.

Mumbai started the season with a big loss to Sydney at Sydney but bounced back hard by defeating Kolkata and Chennai comprehensively. Everyone will be waiting for the performance of Lasith Malinga who hasn't fired in this season yet. The team has a good opening pair of legendary WKB Adam Gilchrist and a red hot Lendl Simmons. With the middle order pack with Class of Kallis, Rayudu, Morgan and Mathews to control the inning plus slog at the end, these four can play any type of cricket according to the asituation they are asked to handle. Warne, the world's best spinner, known for his turns and twists in the crack and wrist spin is the only and enough spin bowler to cope up the situation he is asked to bowl in. With the likes of Malinga, Rampaul and Jordan for seam bowling, the team completes the strength.

Southampton Samurai has started of comprehensively by defeating the Chennai Super Kings quite comfortably but their fortunes changed while the met Kolkata Knight Riders in Round 2 before the bye in round 3. They would also like to bonce back and get a place in the top from the start.

Where?
Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai

Previous Meeting

Activity Index at the end of Round 3

1. Kochi Tuskers Kerala - 70 Points
Difficult to see our team losing... But Dolphins played better than us...
well played DDs :clap

our bowling section was too expensive and we were struggled to get the first wicket :( We are very happy to see Tahir's bowling :yes DD batsmen has done a great job and they have scored such a big total of 320+. Chasing 300+ in 50 overs in impossible but its a difficult task and we have fought well and scored 300+... :yes

this is only our first match ;) More to Come and we will bounce back surely

Nathan Coulter-Nile is a dark horse of #kochituskers
#kochituskers celebrate more than a win today... Sir Jack Hobbs scored 1st half century for us and we believe there lot more good innings still to come from Him... Sanath Jayasuriya is more valuable player for us, Including him in Tuskers, gave us more flexibility in bowlers selection... We don't need to mention special words for a Legend like Wasim Akram... He is a Leader of our Bowling Department... Openers from any opposite team will struggle when they face Wasim Akram & Dale Steyn 'The Duo Bowling Phenom'...
wow.. fabulous win over the chennai :clap

by this win we came at the top of the table :cheers
happy to see our legend players came to good form :clap especially jayasuriya's innings... he is an impossible mahnn :yes
he came good at bowling and batting.. and also hobbs' innings ...
we are so happy... by this win ... our hope and strength increased a lot.. we gained more stability and substainabilty so that we will .. we can win the cup

2. Deccan Chargers - 65 Points
Season II is here and all the teams look to start of good way. Deccan Chargers playing their first match
against the Chelsea Cricket Club in their homeground, this will be one of the advantage for Deccan to
pull off a win.

Deccan Chargers - securing seventh place in season out of ten. Deccan Chargers had a poor inaugural season
the will look to change their fortunes this season. they have a good bowling line-up. but they lacks in batting.
even though the batting is with stars like Sachin, Lara, Warner, Sangakkara. those four have to play a crucial
roles in their matches. if all of them fail. you can expect the end of their batting is near. their bowling starts with
speedsters Johnson, Boult, Irfan and spin department is controlled by Muralitharan, Mishra and Yadav

Players Bought in Season II - Luke Wright, Albie Morkel, Mohammad Irfan, Kuldeep Yadav, Ben Cutting, Muttiah Muralitharan
Key Players - Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Mitchell Johnson, Trent Boult

Chelsea Cricket Club - missing out play-offs by just two points. they will try to start this on a positive note, forgetting
the past. their batting starts Vivian Richards and ends with Vivian Richards only. other players might no make a big
impact in this tournament. they have good bowling options, they have four spinners namely, Mushtaq, Panesar, Ashwin and Badree.
Hope they continue their form of last season

Players Bough in Season II - George Bailey, Lance Klusener, Dwayne Bravo, Saqlain Mushtaq, Samuel Badree, Kyle Abott
Key Player - Vivian Richards, Lance Klusener, Saqlain Mushtaq

Wining ODDS
Deccan Chargers - 55%
Chelsea Cricket Club - 45%
Brilliant effort by our bowlers, especially at the last few overs, where we won it from a losing position. Tough luck Chelsea, some times few days are not quite ours, and I'm sorry that you had lost from a winning position. Nevertheless, well played. It was a good game of cricket overall. Sad to see Kevin not performing at #3 for us. We will have to talk with him regarding this before we take a decision.

As my co said, home win is always special. The fireworks which go up after the game, and the sparkles which go into the crowd, the crowd totally takes in All the crowd cheers for us and with the DJ in the stadium guiding, the crowd can give tremendous support to the home side.

On behalf of DC management, I would like to thank all fans for turning up at the match. We hope the crowd liked the hospitality provided by us, and the open request for all the fans is please feel free to approach the "May I Help You" guys and the Cops if they have any issues from our side. Also if the fans have something to suggest us, they can send a text via WhatsApp to the number provided on the tickets, with their ticket number mentioned along with the suggestion.

3. Southampton Samurai - 40 Points
Brilliant to see us get off to such a start and put down a decent quick record potential chase that could even stick through til the end of the season!
Can't really blame the top order when you have McCullum who is striking at 110. But have to say, Trott innings was too slow, we could have had few more runs in 10-15 overs. Nice innings from Smith and Williamson who gave us a good platform for the hard-hitters to follow, but it didn't turn out to be for us with back to back wickets.

Hopefully we can improve the batting especially at the top.

4. Chelsea Cricket Club - 20 Points
newspaper-viv-kyle-jpg.146832

5. Sydney Dynamo - 20 Points
Hayden And Clarke started of well once the got out SIRDM And LORDFAF kept on going as we reached 341 and our bowlers also bowled well especially in the first 20 overs
Well you cant say much we f****d up
Our Bowlers did a wonderful job as for FAF <3 he saved our ass Clarke and Hayden needs to improve big time and SIR DONALD BRADMAN is a beast.Lets hope we can continue to play like this

6. Mumbai Indians - 15 Points
Our bowlers bowled badly especially Kallis whom we expected too much from. Batsmen gave us something to be happy about but overall it was a bad match for us.
Our bowlers did a great job with them restricted to 218. Then a bad start when Gilly got out but a small rebuild was done by Shreyas Iyer and Simmons. Then the legend did a great job and missed by 4 runs coz of the the target being low.

Overall it was a great match for us.

7. Kolkata Knight Riders - 10 Points
What a victory ! Take a bow Starc. KKR maintained their reputation to produce thrillers. Disappointed with batting performance but I know they will back it up in next outing. Bowlers as always led us to victory.

8. Durban Dolphins - 10 Points
I am very please with the win. many of our strong performers from last season were excellent. Brendan Taylor had a quiet first season, so a return to form is positive. Our three new players were very good. Flintoff was a bit quiet, but he helped us win, and will have bigger matches soon.

9. Chennai Super Kings - 5 Points
Expected much better performance from our team but still in the old form

Kolkata Knight Riders which won the bonus prize for being the most active team in the last season is in the bottom of the activity index table.
I think its going to be a real fight between Kochi, Deccan, Southampton and Mumbai for the activity index points.

@arun_8 : was that preview of match between DC and Dolphins invalid ?..you've taken that in round 1, but ignored it in round 3 :(

I am giving the same reply which I gave earlier.

@@arun_8 : why wasn't points added for this comment of mine
Your highest point will be taken into account.
Suppose you post four single line comments it doesn't mean you will get 5 * 4= 20 points.

As you got 25 points for newsletter your preview was not taken into account. In other words each team can get maximum 50 activity points (25+25) in one round.

I understand the frustration on your side but we need to give equal opportunity to all. So for each manager maximum points is capped at 25. I have made a note of your concern and I will look into it at the end of this season.

After losing the match from a winning position, Deccan Chargers will look get back to winning form
at home. on the other side, Dynamos will look to continue their form, two wins in three matches

Deccan Chargers - Deccan Chargers biggest concern is their batting. it looked good on paper, but
there no much of contribution from other players. the fact that Sachin and Lara scoring 187 for them
and others scoring just 56. this shows the standards of their batting line-up. they will look to get it right
their bowling is dependent on big three Boult, Johnson and Muralitharan

Key Players - Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Muttiah Muralitharan, Trent Boult

Dynamo - winning two in their three matches, Dynamos are confident of pulling this one too.
batting led by the legendary Bradman and Hayden. they have other talented players like Rahane, Du Plessis.
Jayawardene, Clarke. but their team has no big star player who can make a big impact in the game
this team in form at the moment, they will try to give them whole 100%

Key Players - Donald Bradman, Michel Clarke, Faf Du Plessis, Matthew Hayden
