cricket-Olympic Games in the future?

It was at the Commonwealth Games back in 1998.
South Africa won the Gold Medal. Australia Silver and New Zealand Bronze

If it returns I dare say it'll be in the Twenty20 format unlike when it was in KL in the 50 Over format. It'd be the same deal with the Olympics.

Cricket is not going to be in the olympics. Not enough countries play it at a high enough level. Baseball is played in more countries and it is being dropped after the 2008 games. The IOC is trending to sports which can be played in multi-purpose facilities. So not even T20 would make do in the Olympics... although cockamamie spectacles like PowerCricket might pique their interest.

I am against Cricket at the Olympics. I was heavily envolved in a discussion on Cricsim about Cricket at the Olympics, and I totally disagree. There are not enough teams, and there is not enough time. We already have the Twenty20 world cup, and there is way to much Twenty20 Cricket going around at the moment. Then we have various ODI series played every year usually accompanied with some test matches, and the World Cup. We have enough OD and Twenty20 Cricket as it is, let alone introducing more.

I say leave the Olympics as they are, without Cricket.
