Custom Field Placements

I enjoy this game alot but one annoying thing i cant seem to solve is the random placing of certain fielders when i try to set a field. For example im playing as Australia and i try to move certain players into certain positions in the field but the computer just changes the player once i apply the setting . I try tl set up a 2nd slip for example with a decent slip fielder but every time i apply the setting somehow one of my fast bowlers is at 2nd slip?

I thought at first i could just note down which player was assigned as fielder 1,2,3 but that didnt work either. It changes every over. Does anyone know the way to do this correctly? So frustrating having fast bowlers in the slips where they dont belong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can't move players individually, unfortunately. The field placements are done based on the fielding skills of players. Although the methodology behind that is even more confusing.

I've tried setting skills with teams I shared the other day to be more realistic. You'd have to ask others who have downloaded them if they are any good. Personally, I'm happy with them.

This is quite interesting, I didn’t know that was the logic. I always used to put fielder 1, 2 and 3 in the slips, assuming they were my 2 openers and my #3 and they’d probably be decent slip fielders.

Good knowledge
