Your Cricket Describe your Style

I tried some offies in my basement today. Used a Harbhajan action because it is so much fun to emulate and its fair to say that I can't spin the ball. I tried some Leggies with a Warne-esque action and got a fair bit of turn, but Off spin just doesn't work :p

Can't work the quick bowling. The ball stays in the hands most of the way through, so most of them come out as bouncers hahaha.
Defiently more suited as a spin bowler. Get some turn onto it as well, im happy :D

I use to play when I was younger for school, didn't play club though because my local club apparently sucked bad and I was sick of playing for bad sports teams all the time.

I've played a bit of indoor, I'm thinking of playing the outdoor version again later this year, because I think my slow bowling is starting to get to a good enough level. I use a mixture of finger & wrist spinners, mainly the arm-ball, off-break, slider, googly. I've also found a good technique to bowl a doosra and also a delivery that I want to use to disguise a slight variation of a carrom ball i've developed and i'm getting close to perfecting.

Once I can get confident with the two deliveries i'm developing, I think i'm going to be a bit of a handful for batsman.

Batting
Unpredictable lol, i got best batsmen in my club last season but the way i batted was usually suited till the situation... that is until we made the grand final and collapsed chasing a small total and i ended up hitting our way out of trouble lol... not something im used to

Bowling
Bounce, Quick, Swing, Seam, Cut I can do anything with the ball really.. being the tallest member on PC helps :p but as usual theses bowling techniques are only good perfected, i can bowl 110 in indoor cricket where the run up is much much smaller so should be interesting if i ever go back to outdoor

Batting: Leave, block, repeat.

Bowling: Full with flight and sharp bounce, due to my height (6'3) Only starting to develop some turn, I'm learning to 'snap' or flick my wrist at the point of delivery, and I've bowled a few decent leg breaks so far.

I'm curious to all the batters, how easy is it for you to hit regulation 6's? (55m-65m). I under estimated the length of the official size boundary, never really realised how big it was until today.

I like to see myself as a batsman.
Used to play No. 3-4 when i was alot younger, but just cos i was a power hitter.
Nowadays I am not as effective, so I am in the process of changing my style of play.
This season, i have not played well at all, I only played 4 games before succumbing to niggling injuries which have put me out for pretty much the entire season.

[IloveGilly]I have never to this day hit a six..
i have had a few drop a meter short of the boundary, but never cleared it. Unfortunately.
One unfortunate instance was when the outfield was moist and a slogged a ball over long-off and it dropped less than a meter from the boundary where our team was, and the ball sunk about halfway into the ground.
That would be my closest, and I only got 2 runs off that aswell, i thought it was away.

My bowling style is sort of like a cross between Brett Lee and Shane Warne.

I bowl at 90mph off a 4 pace run up.

batting style: very defensive, offside player, like playing unorthodox shots like the reverse pull, sweep, on drive and i like playing the late cut
bowling style: off spin
agressive pitch on off stump turn it back to middle (RHB), aim a bit outside off stump, drift it in then straighten a little so it doesn't drift too much down the leg side (LHB)

Batting-- No 11 all the way. although last year did contribute 38 not out but that was against some fairly poor bowling

Bowling- open the bowling medium paced with quite a lot of swing. Can also move the ball each way off the seam

Fielding. not the quickest fielder in the world but am the only person in my team not to go in the fines book this season for a miss field or dropped catch

when i bowl medium pace, i like to bowl a lot of slower balls which seem to always get my brother out and i use a fair bit of outswing and off cutters

Batting
Nervous but once/if I get settled I play a mean defensive stroke :p, more off side than leg orientated.

Bowling
Once a leggie(ok) but recently converted to off (better), picked up the doosra quite well. Throw in (pun intended) the odd leg spin for variation, quite economical &tend to get a lot of catches or LBW.

Fielding
Pretty quick in the field with a good arm, play in most positions but prefer Gully

Left Arm Medium- I swing it into the right hander. Use a slower ball and a scrambled seam. Not quick enough for a bouncer.

Batting wise I usually get bowled like the number 11 I am for my club team :(
