You should read more of that article to gain an understanding of what kind of a man he's been off the field. He's aware of what it means to be a Hindu, so I don't think he takes these things lightly.

Nothing real there.People have accepted Sachin as God in India not because only He has given new identity to India Cricket but Because he has never involved in any controversy..Hes paying for 400 students who wants to study but doesn't have money..he still go one a month to his old place(Where bet me nobody who has ferrari can go)to play cricket with his old Friends...
Dhoni himself trying to create high profile...Its not Important how much you getting in IPL or what you doing out of the game???
All that matters is how much people loves you???And Dhoni well I don't mind...You can make him idle...

Anyway i am very orthodox person..By the way How many of us Knows that Sachin has been paying for 400 students(including post graduation study)????
When Peoples are on good work they don't give it on paper or in news Pal!!!:p
I also aware that I am Hindu.And I also means What it means to be a Hindu..but Religion never says to Sacrifice the Animal..

I don't think Dhoni has gone around boasting about any of his good works. If he had, you wouldn't have said in an earlier post that he wasn't generous, that he hadn't gone to any charities and helped the youth, etc. He's come from a pretty meagre background and he's made a lot of the opportunities he's had. You probably saw the type of the guy he is after the 20/20 tournament victory, when he took off his shirt and gave it to that little kid.

I don't want to get into a discussion about religion on these forums, but I think the issues about sacrifice and other things can be related to local practices of our religion. If people in that part of the region have had that as part of their practice for centuries, then you can't really blame Dhoni for partaking in it for harmless reasons. I'm actually not aware of all the details of this situation, but I don't think Dhoni would take something like that lightly, and there's been too much made of all this.

Leave it man!!! According to me, these guys are utter useless when they ask for a winning captain to be replaced (especially when the whole team is bonded under his captaincy and the players like the way he leads the team).

I wouldnt call him a 'bad boy' or such kind of nonsense just because he sacrificed a lamb.

I would never want to captain India. I would rather die than captaining a side like India.

A person with the attitude of Yuvraj cannot be made the captain. Have you heard stories about his night life and his dating spree? People have repeatedly questioned his attitude and the way he behaves within the team. He has to mend his ways and first of all, COME BACK TO HIS USUAL FORM if he has to think of captaincy.

Well is Sachin has been paying for 400 students and doesnt want it to be known to the media, how did you know it? Did Sachin tell it to you in person or did you get to know of it from his family members of close relatives? Just becoz Dhoni's good deeds are published in the media, you cant say he is doing it to boost himself. Not all of time do people give news to media that they are doing good works. Sometimes it automatically comes on the media based on where this good work is done.

Sachin is not the "be it all" for India. In future, people will come who will be as good as Sachin. Life does not end with Sachin.

Sachin has been involved in one controversy - ball tampering (South Africa, 2001). But that could not be proved properly so he was let off. Same way, I dont see this 'lamb issue' blowing up, so I wont say Dhoni is the culprit.

Ridiculously fickle some of the Indian fans on here. He's been absolutely fantastic for you in a captaincy role in ODI's and I find it absolutely god smacking that you can't see that. He's turned you around completely.

Anyway, Dhoni seems to have a lot of humility. He clearly gives back to the areas in which he had a grow up and struggle in as a child but he's very closed about it. Despite him being a superstar I don't think it's essentially in his personality as that persona.

Bill Gates gave half his entire fortune to charity last year. Well over several hundred million dollars, yet there was no talking of him being showy by announcing it in the media.

Some are Dinesh Karthik fans here and have that 'wicketkeeper' grudge against Dhoni, may be!:p

Anyways, I completely agree. I would attribute this new India partly to what Dhoni has done with the team. Of course, the team has done well and deserve most of the credit, but the captain has also been outstanding with his instinctive decisions, his backing of the players that he thinks will deliver (quite similar to what Ganguly did), etc
 
Wow...So someone Mentioned Ganguly a Pathetic Fielder...Thats called a typical India fan When your power gets old you will kick them in unmannered fashion..Bravo..Ganguly has won 31 Man of the Match award so in directly He has won 31 Match for India..So When Dhoni reaches even half of that Figure then We talk..
By the way People looking from Dhoni's view because he has winning lot for India and that makes Ganguly a Pathetic Fielder and Dravid a slow gun..I am getting people's mentality that you always praise rising Sun...But Every time Sun has time for Set also..

@Regarding to Sachin involved in Ball temparing Well..I don't believe it even God would have say to me..
Now let me Be Honest I don't like his approach because I am afraid that If Sachin also receive same respect which Dhoni gave to Ganguly and Dravid..Its like someone have given 17 years of their lives to Country and You gave him bench to sit out ..

If you are agree that These three legends are old and not useful to our Country then Play one series without them....I bet I can predict what India gonna do their without them..
