Can someone please tell me how to cut a figure accurately if the figure is not a rectangle...I have tried to use lasso tool but it ain't accurate....please tell in detail

Use Magic Wand tool to do that. Choose Magic Wand (W) tool and then click on the white background in Brit logo. Then choose inverse of it by Ctrl+Shift+I or do it thru menu : Select >> Inverse. This way, u will only select the brit logo. (make sure, the tolerance level is around 90 and Contiguous is unticked).

Another way using Paint Bucket tool:
Paste the whole Brit logo (meaning together with white background). Then select bucket tool (G). Make sure, tolerance is around 90 and Contiguous is unticked. And choose mode to "Clear" instead of normal. Now click on the white background, it will erase the white background leaving just brit logo visible clearly.

And yea, pen tool is the best way to create complex shapes. Initially hard to use, but if u get hang of it, very fun to use it!
