Disconnection Point System

I just cant get why we dont get points when your opponent disconnects. This system is really unfair. You wont believe from last four online games my opponents disconnected while they were losing and 1 of them was a county game.

Everytime in a One Day I score 300+ batting first the opponents disconect.
We waste so much time and we get nothing........

What hurts me the most is that the players scores in a disconnected game is also not counted. My players are deprived of so many well deserved tons and 5 wicket hauls..

Can someone explain the logic behind this point system ?

The point system used to be honesty based, whcih was worse the 100% of points were lost now i think its at 150%, people wtih teams played under 10 or so games are more likely to disconnect but as no games are stored on the server, once you are disconnected the scores are lost, the match in essence was over before a ball was bowled from the servers point of view, if the system was changed so that you gained points if the oponent disconnects this would also be unfair in some regards as many of the disconnections at the momment are accidental, dues to freezing and vista issues. I think most people should be wary of playing newbies to an extent , where as people with higher amounts played are less liely to dc and retire and start again which is what most of these people do. I know from my playing with spash that you like you said get disced once they are 7 down of you need 20 for victory, but i also have a few discs of my own all accidental, 3 of which when i was close to victory that i would think it would be harsh to give the oponent points for a match he would have lost

But the guy who is getting disconnected is losing the points weather he did it accidently or not which is fair since it was his fault and its impossible to distinguish between accidental and intentional.

But the other guy is putting his lot of time in the game without any results.I agree we dont lose points but we lose time.Basically a game is not over till the last ball is bowled. So even if he had 1 wicket in hand he had not lost that game so if gets few points for just playing fairly and for his time he put i the game, there is nothing wrong and that too when the opponent is losing the points in any case....

This would be a good idea, but the way to go is, to play against your mates - then it's more fun;)

It is unjust but hey, it is gonna happen. You can't control it. If you hate it so much you'll just have to not play online. I am on your side though

There can be one more option which I wish to they add to the online game............

It is the a forfeit button. That is because a player if needs to leave a game maybe for whatever reason like shortage of time or some urgent work etc can forfeit a match instead of disconnecting,This way the opponent wont feel cheated and the one forfeiting wont be deducted so many points for d/c.

I was thinking about this yesterday. I was playing a county match against someone and it was the third day. Then my Mum called me and said I had to go and eat my dinner.

I had to disconnect but I felt sorry for him for not getting any points and I wish I could just concede the game.

The problem here (much like hoping for a patch that removes the bugs etc) is that you think childish things et al actually care about their product.

They've knocked up the on-line play option as they feel its something the user wants but like the game do it half heartedly.

Most of the points raised are valid and would add to the on-line element but sadly, I think we all know that we're unlikely to see any changes in the near to middle distant future.
