I belive that something did happen at the Roswell Incident. Maybe the goverment thought they would tell the world like they did about a crashed disk. But then they found something much more dangerous maybe a body of somekind. They could obviously not tell this so they disguised the incident saying it was a weather balloon and its radar detector.
This is just my opinion but i believe something happened that day. Maybe it is in Area 51 now? Who knows and will we ever know?

The video u linked is fake...

I watched a doco yesterday about roswell

The government recently unclassified all its information about what happened (due to the 50 year 'classified' law thing) and what top secret missions that were peformed and it basicly disproved any 'alien' activity during 'that period'.

It was a good watch, its on the History channel for people who live in Australia

But it still doesnt prove that there isnt any locked up UFO's at Area 51.

It just disproved the Roswell crash

All this talk about organisms on other planets (rather than green aliens) brought to mind a presentation my friends did few years back on one of Jupiter's moons Europa. Why, you might ask.

Unlike anything in our solar system, Europa has a smooth surface that is covered by a thin layer of ice. The images of Europa's surface strongly resemble images of sea ice on Earth. It is possible that beneath Europa's surface ice there is a layer of liquid water, perhaps as much as 50 km deep, kept liquid by tidally generated heat. If so, it would be the only place in the solar system besides Earth where liquid water exists in significant quantities.

Galileo (a space craft) has found that Europa has a weak magnetic field. And most interestingly, it varies periodically as it passes through Jupiter's massive magnetic field. This is very strong evidence that there is a conducting material beneath Europa's surface, most likely a salty ocean.

There are traces of oxygen in Europa's atmosphere (yes, it has an atmosphere) but unlike the oxygen in Earth's atmosphere, Europa's is almost certainly not of biologic origin. It is most likely generated by sunlight and charged particles hitting Europa's icy surface producing water vapor which is subsequently split into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen escapes leaving the oxygen.

Though the probabilty is very low, Europa might be a life bearing body, even if that life is that of a tiny speck of bacteria that thrives in these conditions.

I've heard this before (in this thread? on Q.I or at school, can't remember).
Nice information there nightprowler.

that clip looks like a jet...
BUT
I do belive in UFO's. People think that there is a requirement for aliens to have water. They're just making that judgement because all the creatures on earth need water to survive. Why can't there be a whole new species, that maybe feeds toxic gasses (venus?) or its sutable climate is that of faraway planets like neptune. Maybe they are only bacteria, or insects. Maybe they dont need anything to feed off. I bet, there is a planet just like earth out there, who are having this same discussion. Makes you think, doesn't it?

Anything that lives has to eat. And if there is a planet like that it's probably so far away we couldn't see/get there and visa versa.

There is a big difference between accepting that life may exist on other planets, and claiming that life from other planets has visited ours.

Only an irrational fool would claim that Earth is the only planet in the entire universe that supports life, and only an irrational fool would claim that life from other planets visits ours.

What it really comes down to is this. In order to avoid extinction, an organism has to be living in an environment that can support life of some sort. On Earth, the warmest environment that a living thing can exist on for years is over 100 degrees Farenheit. I am talking about a certain type of enzyme (can't remember the name now). Can you imagine how tough an organism would have to be to survive on the surface of Venus (temp is close to 900 degrees Farenheit)? But if there is water present (take Europa's case) there is possibility of life since water provides a safe environment for developing/evolving organisms. It is not a coincidence that almost nothing on Earth can live without water.

I don't think there is any doubting that there is life form outside of earth. NASA has proven that with thier Mars missions.

Ok, just say we visit mars in 2015(just an example).....does that meen we are all fools because our very own specie has visited another planet!!!??
