does vista transformer makes computer slow

vista transformer's impact on computer

What is this ? A theme ? I remember i once installed Vista Transformation Pack It didn't made my PC slow but it screwed my PC few days later and i had to format :(

Yes and no actually, If you would like to settle with the themes, it's okay, but if you want to have those gorgeous Gadgets and widgets, have a Monster computer or settle with the themes..

I have over 8 Years Experience with these sort of things, so i have a brief idea about them.:)..:D..

KBC got it spot on.
The basic theme is not a resource hog. The addons with the theme, which give the perfect Vista look are.

How is Vista with my PC i-e
Intel 2.66 GHz , 768 MB RAM DDR1 , Nvidia 6600 GT VGA , 80 GB Hard disk

It would be okay. If you could increase your Ram, it would be much better.
Also, a bigger hard disk would be useful (not completely necessary though.)

I would recommend at least 1 GB Ram for Vista. I see your Ram is DDR1 ??
It would be much slower as compared to DDR2.

Lets just say that the Vista Transformation Pack makes the PC slower than Vista itself...

Kshitij that is not true!

Vista Transformation Pack doesn't make the computer any slower than it might already be. Ofcourse if you're going to use those gadgets without enough hardware you might notice some performance issues running other apps.

Anyways if one had enough hardware to run Vista, one would have plenty still left in spare with Photoshop, 3DSMax, Painter, Maya all running together in XP!!

Anyways, I dunno why people still want to transform their XP to Vista! XP can be made to look twice as good as Vista with some nifty Windowblinds skins and some other tools!

If you want to run Vista alone that will do! Vista basic version that is, without Aero or anything, just a decked up, resource hungry XP!

If you really want to run Vista along with some other apps like Photoshop or some Audio/video editing apps you need 2Gb or more RAM! I guess your present graphics card should help matters a bit though.

No, that is indeed true. My PC is nothing short of a high end one, yet I have installed Vista Transformation pack with NO sidebar, No other gadgets, yet here and there daily I have system files issues and XP running slower, than what my Vista runs at with exactly the same programs installed. Vista SP1 has countered most of the "resource hungryness" of the OS. Get a gig of RAM and its as fast as XP. ;)

My specs : Intel Pentium 4, 2.4 Ghz, 512 MB RAM onboard graphics!!:p

And I have to date tried all of the following :

Vista Transformation Pack 7.0
FlyakiteOSX v3.5
Pack_Vista_Inspirat_1.1

No problem with any of them, minus the gadgets ofcourse! That Flyakite pack has a fantastic welcome screen by the way.

I agree there could be some issues with system files occasionally, but I think only users who think they are 'system engineers' come across those!:p

Well I was talking about VTP8. You certainly don't want to try that. Vista is better in that case.

Btw, Thoosje's sidebar has viruses. You can use Rick's sidebar, which is actually the Vista sidebar ported to XP, so it works with original MS gadget gallery!

Yeah well, I don't think I'll be trying anymore transformation packs!!:P Actually it's gets boring after a while!

Windowblinds does nicely for me. There's also DesktopX or Talisman if I do need more functionality!
