Doesnt work on laptops

What are your full specs? Probably a RAM or HD issue.
I've assumed it's something to do with the graphics card though because ialmdd5.dll is an intel file or something and I have an intel 945 graphics card.

hey. don't know if this has been mentioned, my apologies if it has, but I had the same problem with the game and i got it to work. My laptop is fairly high spec (1.6 Ghz in-built graphics card 1052 Ram etc etc) but the game woud crash at the loading screen. I downloaded a fix for Dell computers which I found a link for on an earlier thread and this seemed to solve the problem entirely and the game now runs perfectly (on Medium settings...stupid laggy codies!) the patch is called CD disk check and is on the codies forum, hope this helps.

Thanks a heap dugg, will try it. Always appreciate it when someone solves their problem but still takes the time to tell everyone who hasn't what has happened.

I've got this problem that it used to quit immediately after 'loading', but I changed the graphics to low quality so this stopped happening. Now it loads properly, but a few seconds into the game I get a blue screen and the whole physical memory dump thing comes up, stating 'ialmdd5.dll' as the culprit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
the file relates to DirectDraw for your intergrated graphics chipset. Interesting, as DirectDraw is the 2D graphics part, suggesting the problem has nothing to do with the graphics card's 3D performance.

If you haven't already, make sure you have the latest Intel graphics drivers and DirectX version. The chipset is no doubt unsupported, so if drivers don't fix the problem, it is probably due to simple incompatibillity.
