One Laptop per Child (OLPC) Give One Get One XO Laptop starts today.

In September OLPC announced that they are offering XO laptops starting on November 12th to individuals who live in the USA or Canada.

During the two-week period November 12-26 you can buy a XO laptop for US$399. Your purchase buys two laptops. One of them is going to be donated to someone who needs one.

So what does everyone think of this? I mean the laptop's might not be the best quality but for $400 (US) you can get yourself a laptop and someone in a need a laptop as well.

I just think to my self though. Any kid in Africa or any other place of need would rather want food or shelter rather then a laptop.
