Duckworth Lewis Madness

But it can't though can it. How can you bring such subjectiveness into mathematical formulae?

I cannot see how any system could even remotely accurately take into account the make up of a team, as for one, people's opinions are so varied and two, how would anyone expect it to work, honestly?
I don't expect it to work, I don't expect a system to account for it. I have no problem with the D/L method. You'll never find a perfect system for resolving shortened games, there is always something someone moans about. It's a bit like moaning that your team lost because it lost the toss. The toss isn't fair, someone looses out, if it rains someone looses out, if the wicket changes someone looses out. Blimey, people want a completely fair system, how about this; All the players stand in a big circle and say nice things to each other for 3 hours, then everyone goes home happy. I'm certainly not paying ?75 for a ticket at Lord's to see that though ;)

Surely that's preferable to paying ?75 for a ticket at Lord's to watch Kent lose a final ;):p

Im not compalining. India Under 19 team won World Cup due to it. What a shocker. RSA went from chasing just over 3 RPO to 5 RPO.

It certainly didn't help that South Africa were reeling at 11/3 in 8.4 overs when it started raining.

Yeah, if you look at it that way, the target is more justified. But I reckon if they had the whole 50 overs, they'd have walked it.

Something wanted us to win today.

75 pounds for a domestic game :o?

Our domestic games are about $6 AUD for entry. 75 GBP would be the price of about 2 adult tickets to Boxing Day.

nah, I paid 12 pounds for Pakistan V Scotland in July 2005...

English people just wanna make some earning, by skining people like kev.. :p..

That is the price for a Lor'ds final ticket. You can get them for cheaper than that.

For a one day match involving Scotland as an under 18... Pretty steep considering that! ;)

Finals are pretty expensive. I think only cheap tickets for the Friends Provident (50 over) final are available now, coming in at around £40. My tickets to last seasons T20 finals were £55ea mind you as we won, I dont really care how much they were! Normal domestic games are cheaper, about £12-£15 I think is the going rate. (Membership to a county is the way to go, you get your money back in very few visits) But anything international or a final and the prices go way up. Even tickets to the Eng v NZ ODI at Bristol were pretty steep and who wants to go to Bristol ;)

Domestic matches are FREE at the MCG for juniors, if you buy a metcard (public transport ticket). That includes finals.
